Even more interesting to me which jacket. I tend to agree... And disagree as far as trousers go. Khakis for me all the way.

Yes, the G1 is an interesting choice - later than the era of jackets for which he is primarily known (and USN rather than USAAF / USAF too....).

Very interesting article and I liked what he had to say - I had no idea ELC had such small beginnings (in a garage) !
It's a great B/W photo of him too - very '50s.
I'm not surprised by his jacket of choice - on the times I've seen him there, it's what he's always worn at the ELC QM tent at Duxford ...
