Hi guys
I recently purchased two foreman chukka in different colors, but both right feet shoe has a gap in the welt(no gap in left shoe).

I have asked red wing, but got different answer. I am sure I can get an answer from here, is it normal?

Thanks!

When I was buying my Chippewa Service Boots, I went through several pairs they had in the store to find one without this and couldn't. Both Red Wings and Wolverines had the same cut as well. No clue what it is but I think it's something normal. Like hammer indentation on jacket stitches.

That is perfectly normal.. as these are 360 degree welted boots, you will have a spot where the welt begins and ends..

Some higher end brands do a very good job of hiding it by doing a small overlap, but most companies just leave it as it is as it doesn't do anything to compromise the boot...

Wow

I had the exact same question with my Redwing Roughneck so I asked the cobbler and he said it's perfectly normal.

That gap is created because most redwing shoes are 360 degree welted. (Like guys above me said)

It is just where two ends of the welt meet.

Don't worry and just wear'em proudly!!

cheers
