Caught up late last year with a friend I hadn't seen since elementary school, and he & his wife took me, as promised, on an antique tour out in Sanford, NC. Lots of cool stuff, but here's my favorite, a new collection starting for me: Original 30s-40s sheet music.

Got some real nice ones, had to post some favorites here.

The "Penny Serenade" with the juke box on front will be great for by the juke. Also had a really nice Glenn Miller "Moonlight Cocktail" one, but on the way back I remembered an older lady, this song was her & her husband's "song", so gave her that one - didn't think to scan it first, d'ough...

Anyone else into these?

Enjoy,

- C H

Those are wonderful- thanks for sharing :) That was kind of you to give Moonlight Cocktail away - I'm sure the couple appreciated it. I love the Two Girls & a Sailor one, with Helen Forrest up there on the right. I collect sheet music from the 30s-40s and am a complete sucker for the movie/music star photo ones especially. Can't scan them, but took some pictures.

WHOA, Decobelle, those are The Coolest! Now I'm getting a better feel for what's out there to be looked for, thanks for posting, every one of those is incredible. These give the golden era movie posters a real run for their money. Gonna have to keep a sharper eye out for sheet music on hunts. :eusa_clap

I also have a huge collection of sheet music, mostly from the late 40's to the early 60's.

My most cherished is a copy of "Moon River" with it's cover showing Audrey Hepburn from the film "Breakfast At Tiffany's".

Decobelle, Your sheet music for Now's The Time To Fall In Love, shows Eddie Cantor on the cover. I have sheet music for that same song with Ben Selvin.
That's a real oldie...!! Goes back to the "Depression Era"

Awesome! I love sheet music.
When I was a little girl I remember we had my grandmother's piano from the 20s and there was all kinds of old sheet music in the seat. Unfortunately, my mother doesn't have a vintage bone in her body and got rid of the piano and threw away all the sheet music -- before I was old enough to stop her!!

*tries to think of something else...puppies, kittens...*

Thanks Hepcat! Even when I come home otherwise empty handed from a flea market or estate sale, I usually at least find some sheet music. Happy hunting!

Rafter, I have seen the Eddie Cantor one around, but have never some across the Ben Selvin version!

Thanks Wolf, those are great.

That checked suit Bacall wears in To Have And Have Not always gives me momentary total amnesia.

... Yes, so we were talking about tennis...

Don't know how I missed this one, great stuff folks! I've always been a fan of golden era graphics.... the cut out photos... the airbrushed backgrounds.... the fonts... it's all great.

Not a Movie Star cover, but. . . .

. . . I found this in my storage, today. Had no idea where it came from until I saw the address label in the corner. Turns out it'd been in the trunk of the Chrysler when I bought it, along with five others. The rest were of a diferent style. I couldn't find a date on it anywhere.
