Hi,
I am looking for a certain shade of fuschia shirt for my senior prom and I was wondering if anyone knows of places online where I could purchase one.

Ah, prom...I don't remember much, wish I did, I hear we had a lot of fun. It was also 25 years ago Anyway, what color dress is your date wearing? You'll have a devil of a time matching your shirt to her dress if that's what you're trying to do. You might want tos tick to white and let her be the one in a bright color.

Strongly suggest the white shirt. Otherwise you're getting into the too matchy matchy realms.
Check out the formal wear primer thread. It's an education.

Let's not forget

A link to the Black Tie Guide, as well.

Their Hall of Shame is a useful illustration of what happens when you try too hard to color-coordinate with your date (among much else).

A senior prom is obviously not an event on par with an ocean cruise or a state dinner, but it's hard to go wrong with a black evening suit, white shirt, and black bow tie. You'll cringe less when you look back at those pictures 10 years later (take it from the guy who accidentally wore a morning coat in 11th grade :eusa_doh: ).

Oh right. Formal shirt.

Go white. If you're trying to match something, it won't work with the limited selection of colored formal shirts out there.

My date is wearing a dress that is some shade of fuschia; so, yes, it has been rather difficult to try and match.

Thanks for all the advice, I'll just stick with a white shirt-- won't even have to buy a shirt then.

And aside from the fact that white is reallllllly the only proper shade to wear, keep in mind that if the color is close but NOT a match, it will clash like crazy. Stick with white.
Oh, and make sure it's a black tie, and it should be the same material as the lapels of your jacket (which I assume will be satin, which will probably not be an issue.)
