Nice collection Jimmy the Lid. I have about the same, maybe ...but about ten more that are straws. ALL mine are in boxes, which takes up a LOT of room.

You must not have moths or silverfish, and enjoy dusting;) lol

lol

Thanks, Andykev. You're absolutely right -- except about the "enjoying dusting" part. :D No problems with moths here, so these will probably stay in place year-round.

Cheers,
JtL

JtL, this is the most respectful display of hats I have seen in a long time. Your hats will be around for a long time. Beautiful!!

Thanks, Douglas. And many thanks, Gents! :)

I have to say that I am really pleased with the way that this turned out. It makes selecting a hat for the day a truly enjoyable exercise!

Cheers,
JtL

Not all, but most

Here are a few shots of most of my hats. It isn't all of them, but most.

Westerns: The big one on the upper right is a Charlie One Horse, just below it a Jack Daniels, the others are no namers that I've had for 30 years or so. The tan one is my horse ridin' hat and its stained and could use a cleaning!

Fedoras: I have two more coming that have not arrived to me yet. The one to the left is a Tan Pilgrim, in the middle is a brownish gray Adams Executive, and the last one is a Penny Marathon in a darker brownish gray. The ball ca is the one my grandfather wore playing baseball for his company.

Others: A U.S. Army cap from WWII, a beat up old bowler, a nice 1920s straw boater and the dress cap that my father wore as chief of the Alsip, Illinois police force.

Nice hat collection there MV, your're behind on fedoras but I'm sure you'll catch up soon.

Your horse ridin' hat has character, don't change it.

I also like your pistol in the display case. Is that a CW era Colt?

Yep

Yes that pistol is Civil War era piece (cap and ball), all matching numbers on the parts, too. Serials put it at about 1863 if I remember right.

As to fedoras, yeah, I just started getting 'em. I still have two more coming in the mails. I've got a cream colored Bond Imperial Ten and another Adams Executive in a nice bluish gray. I should be getting the Adams tomorrow or Monday. Not sure on the Bond.

I am humbled by everyone's amazing colections and shamed at my paltry collection of merely four hats. I won't even post them, but I am reviving my interest in actually having a collection.

This was at the beginning of the summer, mostly stock that I sold over the course of July and August. Most of my collection's not even in the shot- that's another 45 or so hats, but those were all boxed and stacked, so I didn't feel like taking the trouble of getting them all out.
