Great!!... lovely idea for a large poster.

The challenge with this type of panorama is to retain the specialness of each example. Cut out on a white background, it starts to take on the look of a page from the hats.com website.

Very cool way to display all of your hats together Dinerman!

Do you actually put the hats on a white background when you photograph them or is that done later with a software program?

I finally got around to taking the remaining standard pics of my vintage hats collection (only the Milan is missing). My only Optimo/Chicago is also included in this collage. I had a lot of fun handling all these different felts right after one another. Some of the pics have already been used for the first collage posted earlier this year.

They're all shot individually in the studio on a white backdrop and pieced together in photoshop.

Rabbit, Dinerman - Love the assemblage. I can a see a wallpaper or table cloth design with these!
Imagine, you are sitting at the table with friends, playing cards and using a table cloth with this design.

Another hundred. About another two hundred to go, but I'm working against older non-white balanced shots, with lots of silverbelly hats, the color of which washes out when matching the white of the background to the white of this background. So the editing is slower going.

A-n-A, I'm curious whether the ribbon on the 30s Knox is a bit wider than 22 ligne (2")? It looks wider, especially on your noggin shots.

Do you mean the Cavanagh? Just re-measured at 2". I use an iPhone, so the wide angle lens probably has something to do with the appearance of the close up shots.
