Amazing jacket and very nicely reviewed. Your photos deserve to be on Field Leather's website. Greg did an outstanding job here and I have to agree some of the tightest, straightest stiching I have seen. It fits you to a tee. Such an amazing jacket there and love the red/black plaid lining as well.

I forgot to mention in my review what a pleasure it was to work with Greg. I really appreciate how he not just took my design and made the pattern. He proactively came up with suggestions to make it even better. It was his idea to alter the back yoke, to add half an inch to the height of the bottom hem panels and to use antique brass hardware instead of nickel. Even during the cutting/sewing of the jacket, he sent progress pics to check whether it was indeed how I envisioned it. It's obvious Greg really wants to make the best jacket possible and he goes to great lengths to achieve just that.

A truly amazing result. Highlights are:The craftmanship, the leather and liner combo (BADASS!) And the cohesive changes in the design. I can't help but think this is partly influenced by your experience with the Eastman Highway Star and you nailed it with this one.

That Shinki is ridiculous. I’ve had two Shinki jackets, still own the SB. So damn nice. I’ve become a true believer. This is about a perfect a jacket as any one can hope for. It’s beautiful Marc. Well done.

Thnx. This is my first shinki. What I like most about it is the way it drapes to my body, no break in required. Yet sufficiently heavy and firm to give that feeling like the jacket is 'hugging' me when I put it on. I also love the smell. It's hard to describe but I think it has some citrus undertones.
Is your SB made out of pigment dyed or full aniline Shinky? What made you choose one or the other?

I’m no expert mind you. But my guess is that my SB is semi-aniline. It certainly is more robust when it comes to scratches, coloring, etc. than full aniline jackets I have owned. But not to the point of my Vanson or LWs. To me, Shinki is all about the incredibly beautiful grain. Given my build, I have few options for Shinki and the SB came up on eBay, after making its way through our classifieds. It is exactly as you describe it— deceptively firm and it hugs my body. A definite plus, especially when I ride. And yes, the smell is intoxicating.

congrats, the fit is perfect, and great decission to abandon most of the double stitching other than pocket detail, it would have cheapen the look a lot on most leather jacket models other than leather "denim jacket" style.

An exceptional jacket, congratulations! It's clear that Greg has a great deal of skill and a strong commitment to customer service. That stitchibg really is something else! Looks great on you, I've got to admit I'd have been smiling too and would've long forgotten about my cool face.
