tonyb said:If you don't mind saying, dumbjaw, how much did that clean and block and resizing set you back? Looks like they reused the ribbon. How 'bout the sweatband? And did those stains on the right side of the crown come out?
Dumbjaw said:The ribbon, sweatband, and liner are all the same. The stains are still there, but you can see a faint marking as if they had tried to sandpaper them out somehow. The scuffs will go away over time. The total cost for the clean / reblock / stretch was $8.00. Yes, seriously. I never knew Oscar at South Street Hats did this, but now that I know, it's where ALL of my hats will go, especially since it's within walking distance of my apartment. Now, I don't know how thorough the work is when it's done, but I don't get the impression that it's Optimo-level - I don't think the ribbon or sweat or liner were removed at all during the process.
cookie said:Good news it only cost USD8 but you had to brave snow, sleet and the Philly elements to get there right?
