FT - Excelled Cafe Racer 40Reg (USA) Need 42

Looking to even swap this size 40 for a similar 42. Black preferred. Lmk what you guys might have. Non smoker / no funky musty smell. Very fine needle holes on outside shoulder where someone used to have a patch but not super noticeable since they used a very narrow needle.

Pit- 22
Shoulder- 18
Sleeve (along curve) - 26
Back (from collar seam) - 24

I have this jacket in 42 , but Brown. Now it is a VERY generous 42 , it fits me fine and I am a 44 guy in Schott all day long.

I also wear 44 in Eastman variants , so I would appear to be consistent as a 44.

I am not looking to trade , just letting you know a 42 tag may be too big on you so be careful what you wish for !

It has rapidly become one of my "favourites" as most of my jacket collection is black ! 'Zact same as yours otherwise

It came from these very forum classifieds just a coupla months ago. You can't see it but it is a 42

Hmm, thanks for the heads up. I really dig the overall style/look of this Excelled but just think I need a bit more width in the shoulders. Everything else fits. What does your 42 measure at shoulder / pit? Measuring with the gussets tucked in.

I have never been a "pit to pit" guy and indeed I had not heard the terminology before coming to the Fedora Lounge.

( And I had been "into" leather jackets for near 40 years by that point !)

Thanks. You’re right about that huge 42. Unless yours was a mistagged 44long! Compared to my 40reg, that would be massive on me. 19” shoulder seems normal for a 42 but that 24” pit is surprising.

I’ll keep this one for now unless I see another 42 excelled with different measurements.

I've discovered that pit to pit is the single most important measurement in getting a decent fit. Measured under the armpits right across the chest a classic 42 is generally 22.5 to 23.5 inches across. But because companies make random sizing decisions, I have even seen 42's with 25 inches across the chest - which is a 48.
