I am offering my vintage wartime mechanics D-1 shearling jacket for sale in a large size.
It is a solid, wearable example of the classic mechanic's cold weather jacket, which came into service with the Air Corp. in the mid 1930's. This is not a perfect example and so can be worn guilt free and an ideal jacket for a re-enactor.
The jacket has a 1/4 inch fleece depth sheepskin, with two practical zippered front pockets.
The downside:
The main zipper has been replaced with a post war Talon. This works smoothly and has two pullers (so can be opened from the bottom when zipped).
Both pockets zippers are original (Talons), but they have run off the bottom of the track so need some TLC to re-engage them.
The left shoulder/chest has some areas of worn shearling.
There is a hole in the rear of the collar (an easy repair) and a missing buckle.
