FS: VANSON Model E / Highwayman, Tan/Brown, Size 44

PRICE
420
+ shipping from the EU.

INFO
My fourth E. Sort of. Proxied the jacket for a friend who decided he strongly dislikes the color. That was over two weeks ago as ever since I had the jacket in my possession, I couldn't bring myself to sell it. Vanson always sort of reminds me how good a good jacket can feel & why I am a part of a group of people that talk about jackets. If there's a jacket that feels like home - Warm, cozy, perfect home, one that you feel you could spend the rest of your life in - that jacket is Vanson's Model E.

But you know all this.

Perfect, perfect jacket. Mobility, comfort, cut... Not to mention warmth & sturdiness. Obviously, this is an older jacket & while there's some talk recently about how there's good and bad Comp. weight leather, this stuff, as far as I am concerned, is the best.

As thick as it gets, the leather is uncorrected with natural grain. No acrylic, pastic-y feeling finish. Just surface pigment. Feels very natural and despite the thickness, it is surprisingly soft and pliable.

All else, you ought to know. Classic Model E sans the vertical lining pocket. In depth info is here.

CONDITION
As stated, older jacket with expected, solely visual signs of wear and use; Namely, faded finish (pigment, more precisely) around the edges & of course, creases. That's all.
Inserting the zipper pin into the machine correctly can be slightly fussy but the zipper operates perfectly. I've examined it carefully & it's flawless so I attribute it to this particular brand of zippers. Hardly worth bringing up at all, really.

MEASUREMENTS
Size 44. Fits true to size and true to Vanson's sizing.

The color is actually tan or light brown, not beige. I don't know why I wrote beige. It's a warm, light brown. Tan to brown. Definitely not beige!

It is amazing.

It even looks so much better than Fine Creek's knock-off (called Gardner, I think?) that they even attempted to do in the exact same color.

Your posts are what got me into Vansons in the first place. Definitely love the older ones. I've bought 10 jackets this year and you're tempting me for number 11 :) If this was a 42 I'd be unable to resist. You seem to have a knack for getting the best ones.

I'm happy to hear you say that but I'm sure @ton312 contributed to the cause a lot. But it's hard not to get hooked on them. If I was to make a top 5 list of the best jackets that I've had, at least three spots would go to Vanson.

Beautiful jacket. @Monitor I have to ask do you do some form of writing or marketing professionally? Your sales posts/reviews are that good IMO.
Thank you! But no, sadly, nothing I do is related to writing much. Well, except these FS threads. But the thing is, I'm only inspired when I have to write about the clothes that I truly believe is (that) good. I couldn't ever do this for something that I think is anything less than fantastic.

For instance, I have a lot more stuff listed on my eBay that I bought just to try them out, that I don't think is that good and I never list them here. I don't even list many of the Schott Perfectos I sell on eBay here, if they're not of the highest caliber (and honestly, many aren't). I don't think I'd even bother with this Vanson if it wasn't as good as it is but it really is.

@ton312 definitely furthered my addiction to Vanson, showing various stylish jackets, and he models them very well. Made me realize their jackets can be just as stylish as they are functional. In fact I just bought his old Model E from another FL member.
You started it, with the review of the Sport Rider line, and description of their competition weight leather. Best riding jacket I've had so far. Have very much enjoyed learning from both of you.

Somebody buy this jacket so I don't!
