Hi,

My search for real quality leather jackets started in my twenties but having found this forum somewhere in october 2023 made everything go in overdrive. After spending several hours a day on the forum I decided that I wanted a cool Japanese jacket. One of the more affordable, but high end brands that came up regularly was Tenjin Works. A small leather company situated in Tokyo. The order finally went through somewhere in june 2024. Ignoring the advice to first seek out your measurements and finding out what kind of style was suitable for your body I made the decision to go ahead and ordered the JS03 natural veg tan oiled kip. The process was smooth and communcation flawless and the jacket arrived somewhere in october.

This is the description of this jacket on the website:

"Imitate the vintage style of sports jackets in the 1940s, and wear it with the texture of the material. In order to bring it closer to the charm that increases the atmosphere over time, we have been particular about the selection of materials, and we have arrived at a classic that uses the finest "oiled kip leather". single leather jacket. Kip leather is calf leather that is 6 months to 2 years old, and is characterized by its rarity, as well as its fine texture and durability even though it is thin. The soft and supple kip leather adapts quickly to the body, and you can enjoy its unique aging. By adding our own oil to the rare kip leather, we have succeeded in increasing flexibility and increasing its robustness. The texture of the material matches this classical style sports jacket, and the cowhide leather creates the greatest vintage feel. All the zippers are made with WALDES zippers that can be seen even in vintage with a vintage feel. The classical shape of the WALDES zip matches the leather to further enhance the jacket and perfection. It also has heritage details such as cuffs on the sleeves, double brass buckles attached to the pinch back side of the back, and chin straps. In addition, action pleats are attached to the side of the back, which enhances not only the design but also the movement and mobility. Cotton fabric is used for the lining. Thick cotton with a classical herringbone pattern is a material that looks forward to its aging along with leather. This can also be customized with an optional quilted lining. It is a sports jacket that is expected to sublimate to a new vintage over time, with a vintage-inspired design and construction that goes well with oiled kip leather, which is made with an original formula that is as good as old leather."

I can only agree with this description. The leather is extremely supple and needs no breaking in at all. I was really looking forward to the aging process of this particular leather, because the jacket will get a very rich caramel brown colour after wearing it for a decent amount of time in the sun. The weather will affect the way it will look (sun and rain) and this was supposed to be the jacket that I would still wear after 10 years and with my own signature on it.

There is one problem. The jacket is unfortunately too big for me. I tried to wear it on several occasions but the only way it looked good was with a big sweater underneath it. The idea was wearing this beauty in spring and summer and with just a t-shirt. For autumn and winter I have other jackets. So after contemplating alot I decided to take my loss and sell this one. Like I said it got some wear and you can see this in some spots on the top of the jacket. It's minimal and you can see this in the pictures attached. It's only at the start of the breaking in process and unfortunately someone else gets to enjoy this journey.

For reference: I am 186 cm (6.1 inch) and 88 kilo (194 pounds)

Measurements are:
P2P: 61.5 cm 24.2 inch
Back: 69 cm 27.1 inch
Arms: 67 cm 26.3 inch
Waist: 59 cm 23.2 inch
Shoulders: 50,5 cm 19,8 inch

I am officially a member since june 2024 and have just sold (two days ago 08-02-25) an Aero Bootlegger with help of the Classifieds section. I prefer to sell in Europe, but I just found out that sending a package to the United States is only 60,- So this is an option too. I am willing to let it go for 850,- euro. The price I paid to Tenjin works was 1350,- including transport (and taxes)

Hey, excellent jacket! What is the waist measurement?
Hi, the waist is 23,2 inch. I accidentally called it hem. I wil edit it in the original message. You can play around with the buckles to get the preferred waistline
