I'm offering this Stratoliner pin for sale. I purchased the pin several years ago hoping to snag a Stratoliner Fedora. Although I bid on many a hat, I never did win one. Forgive a naiive question but is a 'stratoliner' pin a generic term? This is a DC3 rather than a 4-engined stratoliner.

Dr H, you are correct that this is a DC3.

When Stetson introduced the Stratoliner hat (in the 40's I think) this is the pin that came with it. I don't think anyone knows why they didn't take the trouble to get a likeness of the real plane made.

So on the Lounge we tend to think of it as a Statoliner pin, even though it's a different plane.

The person who'd buy this would be the owner of a pinless Statoliner hat.

and anyone with an original Strat would want the original pin. The new Strats actually have the 4 engine Strat pin on them now.

There's a thread around here that shows and talks at length about the Stratoliner pin and the DC 3. Lefty, if I remember correctly has sold a couple in the past, both of the DC3 and the Stratoliner.
