I have to say this must be a deadstock, clean pocket, clean shell, only one small stain on the lower lining. Otherwise all good & functional. Zipper tape in excellent condition. From the late 50s.

that pit to pit makes it seem more like a 40 to me, 42 at a push. Damned shame about those short ass sleeves though, Is that 25 measured around the curve?

Yes, the sleeves are not very long, but typical of that era. The “conservative” cuff where the suit jacket or the dress shirt cuff sticks out

I’m a 44 chest, & this fits comfy with a sweater, it’s definitely 44. How can a pit to pit of 23” be 42?

I'll take your word for that sir. Not wanting to get into an argument here.. but obviously one needs some wiggle room and I do believe that around 4 inches on top of actual chest size would be pretty standard. I don't know. What do others think? Feel free to bump this guy's thread! It is a super coat for someone

No offense taken. Just feels like a rather “overcoat” ish when I put it on. Like wearing an oversized Aero long half belt.
