Here is a beautiful kitten finish Resistol Twenty in a light/medium gray color. I believe this hat dates from the 1950s.
Dimensions:
5 1/2" Open Crown
2 3/8" Snap Brim with Cavanagh Edge
2" Ribbon with Shark's Gill Bow (I believe that is what that style of bow is called) and Wind Cord
Opening is 8" x 6 1/2"
Tag size is 7 1/4, but it fits more like a 7 3/8. As anyone who has handled a kitten finish Resistol can tell you, it's one of the finest finishes out there. The beaver felt is clean and has a nice dense feel to it, the sweatband is still soft and pliable, and the liner is luxurious in look and feel. There are a couple spots of wear on the sweatband (though no cracks or tears), as well as a few small marks on the liner and a stain near the tag (shown in the pictures). There is a little bit of moth activity, a couple spots around the base of the crown which are mostly hidden by the wind cord. There are also some small tracks on the top of the crown, though they are hardly noticeable at all.
All in all a beautiful lid, truly one of the nicest I've ever handled.
