Up for sale is my Good Wear Monarch A-2 in size 42, made by John Chapman. The leather is horsehide in a light russet, and the knits are golden brown. The zip is a Talon repo and the thread is light olive drab. The jacket has the inset sleeves unique to the Monarch contract, which allows for freer arm movement. I have the original box for the jacket and I think I still have the tag for the jacket giving the date it was made, etc. It’s labeled a 42 but fits more like a modern 40.

Measurements:

chest 21 3/4
sleeve 26 1/4
shoulders 17 3/4
back 24 1/2
front 22 1/4

The jacket was made in 2014, and it still looks almost new with no discernible flaws or issues, even though I am the second owner. The first owner only wore it a few times and I never wore it other than to try it on indoors. It has been kept in a breathable garment bag and comes from a smoke-free home. It was a trim military fit when I bought it and now it is a little too trim for my liking as I’ve since gained about 10 pounds, though it still looks good on me. For reference I am 5’ 11” and 180. I can still wear the jacket but it would definitely be a more comfortable fit for someone who weighed 150-160.

Happy to answer questions but the first “I’ll take it” gets it.

Asking price is $875, with buyer to add $25 for insured shipping. PayPal only and CONUS sale only. No returns.

I don't suppose you have any fit pics... I am close to your size, closer to 160... but at this 'investment'... would prefer to see fit pics.
Looks to be a great jacket, but if it doesn't fit right...
Thanks

I'll try to get some more pics up shortly. Just want to add that although I'm "new in town" on this site, I'm a long-time eBay member with 100% positive feedback with 291 ratings under the user name turtle865jdb.

As promised, some more pictures. These were taken indoors with flash, and I believe the closeups give a good idea of the actual color. As you can see, the jacket is truly in almost new condition.

robster59, would you be willing to let it go for $600?

Thanks for your interest but no. Please keep in mind that the jacket sells for $1549 new and there’s a two year wait:

My jacket is virtually new as can be seen by the pictures and the price has already been heavily discounted by nearly $700 (close to 45%) to account for it not being technically new.

Good Wear repros are undoubtedly more expensive than other repros but there are none better and many do agree that they are the best.

Would love to find one of these in a 46". I am 6'-1", 200 Lb. +- Beautiful color, love the Monarch.

Thank you! The light russet color is close to caramel. I briefly owned a Monarch in size 46, and it was definitely too big on me, so I imagine that a 46 would be a good fit for you.

Probably a 44 would be best for me...
