Hi Dave,

I really like your work.

I'm tempted... I usually wear a 42 long in a suit - I'm six two and 1.85 pounds what are the measurements of a 42 or 44?

Do you have some ready to go or do they need to be made to order?

Cheers - Seb

Seb,

Thanks for the question. Modern suits are very difficult to use as a guide for vintage jackets unfortunately. As to the sizing of my jackets... I am basically running on the same vintage sizing format as most originals.

That said though, I have simple formula that seems to work well... if you take your actual chest measurement and add +3" to the total number, you will have your size in vintage jackets. That of course is not the actual measurement of the jacket, but is the "Labeled Size" of the garment. Many originals work on a similar principle. Thus a vintage marked size 48 will often have a measurement of +4" over tagged size....or 52", this allows for the third dimension and as such is the measurement of the outside of the garment.

Hope that this makes sense?

As for "Ready To Wear", No, I do not keep anything on hand, since sizing is always an issue and the prices of supplies being what they are, it is far simpler to make everything on a custom basis.

Cheers and thanks again for the question,

DD

Humm..I note the tag in that Jacket states "Detroit" on there, and your Avatar area on the lounge says you are Tulsa, O.K. Did we miss something or is there some real explanation about this?[huh]

LOVE,

The tag in the jacket represented here is indeed a copy of the original Label from the J Buegeleisen Co. of Detroit Mich. It is simply my copy. I am very enamored with vintage labels... (I also have Californian Sportswear as well as Monarch Labels) Buegeleisen was HUGE in the motorcycle community for their moto parts and later clothing line, from the late 40's until their sale to a UK based firm in the late 60s.

My company is Diamond Cap Co and Diamond Sportswear in Tulsa, OK. That Buco site that you reference is not me! Frankly they are paying Real McCoys Japan for the rights to use the name, though RM no longer has the rights to the name here in the US, but only in Japan. Silliness! I have long wondered when someone would assume, as you did, that these "offerings" were made by me... unequivocally NOT!

Thanks for the question,

DD

I'll tell ya- 4yrs after my major accident, and the rumble of fine bikes going by makes me itchy...despite having enough hardware in me
to stop most airports cold, I'd really like to be out there rippin' it up. And one of those jackets would look right smart on my new,
titanium improved body...

Ideaguy,

I am sorry to hear about that...that's gotta suck!

Is their not any way for you to "Get In The Wind" again?
