GORGEOUS! LOST WORLDS "BUCO RIDER" JACKET IN 4oz HORSEHIDE.

Size 46. Measurements:

Chest: 24 2/4
Sleeve: 24 1/2
Shoulder: 20 1/2
Length: 25

This is a catch-and-release for me; I acquired it in an easy and pleasant transaction from Ribdoner and I LOVE IT..... but it's just too large for me! I'd love to trade for a Lost Worlds in 42 or 44 (preferably another Buco Rider!) but otherwise it's $800 (which is what I paid) OR OFFER, boxed, shipped and insured in the CONUS! Offers are very welcome--this jacket deserves to be worn!

According to Stu Clurman at Lost Worlds the Buco Rider was possibly a one-off design of the Joseph Buegeleisen company in Detroit, which combined a tab snap collar with one of Buco's iconic extended D-pockets on the front. The resulting jacket had a fantastic, timeless look--equally at home on or off a motorbike.

This jacket is made from Lost Worlds' chrome-tanned American horsehide from their own tannery; judging by its weight this is likely 3.75 or 4oz horsehide. This is very heavy, and very strong.... but Lost Worlds' patterns are so good that you won't notice the weight when you're wearing it!

The jacket is a classic straight zip motorcycle jacket--although as a straight zip it can be worn easily in any situation. As well as featuring Buco's iconic D-pocket on the chest, the Buco Rider has an elaborate but elegant rear bi-swing/gusset back, allowing for complete ease of movement. As you'd expect from Lost Worlds, this is built from a perfectly-designed pattern, making it not only utterly functional but also replete with what Stu terms "sinewy beauty" that stems from the "honesty and authenticity" of the jacket.

The jacket is lined with 100% Flight Satin Nylon lining with Drill Cotton Interlining (for increased wind resistance even when riding). It features a storm flap, and a wide strip of horsehide in the interior hem to protect the lining from wear.

The main zipper is a heavy vintage Talon zipper with a "paperclip" pull. This moves beautifully smoothly, and, like the jacket, is seriously heavy-duty and indestructible. Attached to the zipper is Lost Worlds' original pull-tab--beautifully-cut horsehide leather with a NOS brass dome attachment and brass ornaments. The sleeve zippers and pocket zippers are also NOS brass Talon zippers, either with horsehide leather pulls or NOS brass chain pulls. All work perfectly.

The jacket features a deep interior pocket, and an Antique Brass hang-chain. The lower side-adjusters are all brass, and function perfectly.

The workmanship of this jacket is superb; the pattern and stitching are immaculate. The horsehide will age beautifully, and can be worn without concern in all weathers--the more its worn, the more beautiful the grain will get. Rain, snow, sun, and wind--nothing can harm this jacket.

This jacket is starting to break in beautifully, and so it's already very comfortable to wear. It has some grain starting to pop. There is a small blemish on one sleeve, as shown, and a couple of freckles on the front, also shown, but this is inconsequential and part of its patina.

Asking just $800, or offer, boxed, shipped, and insured in the USA. This is an absolute bargain for a jacket that you really will be able to pass on to your grandchildren!

Measurement pics, by request! PLEASE NOTE that the measurements were taken with the tape measure taut--something I can't replicate when I'm photographing!

ALSO note that the hem measurement is c.22".
