FS: Chippewa 27899 Engineer Boots

I just got these on eBay, but they're a bit too small and the seller doesn't take returns. I don't sell enough stuff to bother with an eBay account so offering them here, where I've successfully sold a couple of Vanson jackets.

These are size 11.5D.

Please note orginal seller has incorrect model number in his ad. These boots are actually 27899s, with the more desirable natural finished leather midsole. (27863 has all synthetic sole.)

Pre-owned, in great shape. The leather on the shaft is beautifully worn in...thick and soft. Whoever the original owner was, he took excellent care of these boots.

I just got them last week and wore them only once in the house to try them on. I can upload additional pics if you like, but they probably won't be as useful as the ones in the eBay ad.

They are excellent -- on my feet now. nicely broken in and hope to have them along for many adventures. First ever pair of Engineer boots for me and I really like the design and having some adjust-ability.

Curious, would you say these run small? I've read reviews from these run almost an entire size small to true to size. Great boot, great design at an affordable price point.

I have two pairs - one like the above and one in brown rough out. Def not small. Certainly not a size small. HTH

I came upon this post while searching for some infos about Chippewa and engineer boots in general and noticed the seller of these boots saying that the 27899 have a leather midsole unlike the 27863 that he says ,have all synthetic midsole , is that true ?

I always thought the 27863 have a leather midsole as well but dyed in black , isn't it the case ?

No idea. I'll have to check later into next year, when I get them un-packed. I suggest asking the question in the Engineer boots thread in General Attire, should get more responses there.

Overall, good boots but cannot wear more than a few hours at a time.

Midsole : 4 iron rubber / 6 iron robus combination
