Object tanning (PCC stands for "Pronto per concia in capo" which means "ready to be garment-tanned") is a derangedly complex method of tanning, developed in-house by the CCP, in which a garment is made before the leather is (fully) tanned and dyed.
Such garments take anything from 6 months to over a year to be made (more for this coat) and cannot be serialized due to the absolute unpredictability of the outcome.
Essential part of this process involves a mannequin over which a leather shell is sewn and tanned, which not only forces it to keep its intended dimensions but also, as the leather dries and warps, shapes it into an anatomically perfect form.
Pronounced creases and deep variation in grain & tone of color are just one of many end results of this process.
Due to the amount of time and money Object Tanning involves, CCP altogether stopped using this method years ago as it was economically unsustainable, despite the seemingly astronomical pricing it was dictating. So, you can imagine that this coat is among the rarest and most expensive pieces CCP ever made.
Even without knowing all this, I can promise you that without any doubt, this is the most impressive leather garment that you will have ever hold.
This licorice-black, vegetable tanned horsehide is 1.2 - 1.5 + mm thick. Comparatively soft. Very silky finish for the most part although some parts are nearly matte. Color displays subtle undertones that range from rust-red to green, depending on the light.
Two buttons closure. Three lining pockets & two hand-warmer. Fully lined. Fully hand-finished.
Posting this here just for fun but maybe someone wants to Warp 9 their collection into God category. Seriously; Nothing, nothing like it out there.
