FS: Aero Highwayman in FQHH w/ sheepskin collar, sz. 40

For sale, Aero Highwayman with (non-removable) sheepskin mouton collar, in a size 40.

$675

No introduction needed, I'm sure. Ultimate Aero HWM!

★ Absolutely stunning heavy FQHH, the kind that made Aero famous. Particularly beautiful version displaying true and proper patina.
★ Very thick, luxurious, brown sheepskin collar. Wool is very dense and somewhat ★ coarse but not uncomfortable in the least.
★ Very heavy, thick & warm tweed lining. Gorgeous stuff!
★ Storm cuffs.
★ Two hand-warmer pockets and one chest pocket. Standard setup. No inside pockets.
★ Side adjusters.
★ Etc...

I'm having an extremely hard time deciding what color the jacket is. It's brown on a cloudy day, red in the sunlight. Whatever it is, expect that deep & rich color that is a trademark feature of a FQHH.

Mint condition. Absolutely flawless. Not a single issue worth pointing out. If it didn't have a few creases and some seriously gorgeous patina, it would've easily passed for a brand new jacket.
I should point out that the darkening on the hide can be wiped off but since this is what I would refer to as genuine patina, I downright refuse to do it because it only adds to the beauty of the jacket. However, if you want to remove it, you can.
But yeah, considering the extremely scuffy nature of the FQHH and the condition of this jacket, you can clearly tell how little the jacket's been worn and with how much care it's been treated.

Size 40 but please be guided by the provided measurements...
  • P2P: 23" / 59 cm
  • Shoulder width: 18" / 46 cm
  • Waist width: 22.5" / 57 cm (max. width, side adjusters relaxed)
  • Sleeve length: 26" / 66 cm (but don't reach nearly as long as you'd expect)
  • Back length: 27" / 69 cm
I've had a number of HWM jackets and this one fits remarkably slim. Nothing boxy about it at all. Looks more like I'm wearing a Premier version. Very different from a standard HWM, in any case.
Only reason you're even reading this is the sleeves which are too short for me. But it's a perfect winter jacket and one of the most beautiful from Aero that I've ever seen.

Looking to get $675 PP, Friends and Family. Shipping to the EU should be really cheap, about $10-15. Overseas, depends.

I might be interested in a trade, too!

Any questions at all, PM me right away. Thanks for looking.

Hurts that I have to make this thread but I need the $ and the sleeves barely cover my wrist. It's not tragic but they're too short and it'd irk me in the long run.

WOW!

Rare is the jacket that fits Ivan perfectly in the sleeves, as per Ivan's wishes.

I have a few of Ivan's former jackets. Never been disappointed in a single one. Man has an incredible eye for spotting diamonds in leather.

I want. But the Fine Creek obsession has overtaken me.

Really nice jacket. Besides the leather, I also appreciate the colorful Donegal tweed lining. Too large for me or it would be under serious consideration. GLWTS

You have my interest Monitor. Do you know when the jacket was made? Can you comment on how the jacket fit compared to a standard recent size 40 HYM. I own a recent size 40 HYM I purchase from the forum classifieds 3 years back. At my present weight I do not have ay excess room. The ptp, shoulders, and waist measurements seem the same.

Sure thing! I actually can compare it to the recent HWM in the same size and I can tell you that this jacket fits considerably slimmer than the 2017 HWM, despite the relatively wide chest size. The shoulders are much more narrow, a good 3", ditto for the sleeves and the overall fit of the jacket is... Well, different. It appears to fit less boxy. It would be the best way to describe it. I've had four HWM jackets, this one's unlike any of the others.

As for when it was made... I honestly don't know. But it's an old jacket. 20 years old or more.

Here's a photo of me wearing the jacket.

^^ Amen to that! Amazing piece there Monitor, and such a finish on that leather. I too have bought from and traded with Ivan, and trust me, there's nothing to worry about working with him. If on the fence due to his location - it's not an issue! I highly reccommend! :)

Sorry, I don't know how to pm on this board, but can you let me know your dimensions -ht, wt, chest, etc so I can gauge the photo you provided of yourself in the coat. And, are you in the states? Thanks.

Sure thing. I'm just under 6'1" and... Around 185 lbs. I wear a 42 in most jackets and this one fits me just fine. Fits me perfect in the body, just not the sleeves.
I'm in Europe.

Oh, and as for the PM, just click on my name or an avatar and a pop-up screen should appear with a Start a Conversation option. :)

This is my first 1st post here - inspired by this jacket even though it's in E.U. G.L.W.S!
