Is this a heavier weight Steerhide? I am not familiar with the older stuff Aero was using, so I don't know how much if varied or what was offered.

So it's marked a 44, but by measurement it's a 46? That could even be a 48 with those measurements maybe.

No. I usually wear a 42 and I would drown in a 46 or 48. I could wear this one over a thick sweater and look 'ok'.

What are you comparing it to?

Ah, okay. I guess I am a bit confused then. I originally asked about the size because the label says it's a 44, but your post says it's a 46. And the 25.5" P2P measurement seemed large for the labeled size.

I'll stop before we confuse each other further, haha. I'll go by your published measurements, and I am considering it. Irrespectively, GLWS!

You're absolutely right, I got things mixed up. It's a 44 of course, not a 46. Thank you for pointing out my mistake. Anyway, with Aero label sizing is pretty useless anyway. Let me add these:

What is the size of the waist/belt of the jacket?
And what is the waist/waistband size with the side straps tightened?

It's not a tapered fit. Not sure if that's what you're looking for? I'll take measurements when I get home.

In not sure how you'd like me to measure but this is what it looks like with the side adjustable fully tightened.

If I had been sure then I would not have asked such a question. I am not yet an expert on all styles of jackets :)

My advice would be to just buy a jacket in a style you like and go from there. You can read all you want about jackets but the only way to really learn and discover your preferences is by handling them in the flesh. Which will he a costly endeavor if you buy new. Therefore it's best to start with second hand jackets. Just make sure you don't overpay.

I can assure you if you buy this Aero and it doesn't work out for you, just relist it here and you'll get your money back out of it. It will be a free try :) It will only cost you shipping costs.

Thank you. This is what I wanted.

I will think. I must first compare all sizes with the styles I have.
