FS: AB Deluxe

Hello everyone! So a few months ago I was walking around the Mall of America when someone noticed my hat. He asked me if it was an Indiana Jones hat and I said yes. He then asked if it was made by the guy in Mississippi or Germany? I told him that is was an AB Deluxe made by Marc. He said it looked really familiar to him because he had one of his own!

So we kept in contact and then he decided he wanted to sell his old AB Deluxe. He is not a very computer saavy person so he gave it to me to sell for him. This is an old AB Deluxe, but it was recently reblocked to a Crystal Skulls hat by Steve Delk and hasn't been worn since. It has the SOFTEST sweatband I have EVER felt! It also has the old Staff of Ra liner (it's a new liner).

There is no writing on the sweatband, but it is a size 7 1/2.

He is looking to get $600 plus shipping. All transactions will be done through me.

Yes, $600... considering brand new these go for roughly $800 and a year of waiting.

Brand new they go for $650 plus $20 shipping. And if you order now the wait is only 6-8 weeks. I would be interested if the price was WAAAAY lower.

Thank you for that. I really wish people wouldn't complain about the price in public like that... especially when they are so misinformed about what they are complaining about. The fact of the matter is, if you wanted to buy an AB Deluxe from Marc right now, you would spend roughly $800 USD and wait a year before you get it. I am selling this for $200 LESS and you will get it immediately, instead of waiting 12 months.

Stunning hat. Wish I had $600. I have one of Steve's and it's very nice. I've heard that Marc's Deluxe is a finer (softer?) finish and softer sweatband. And, I think the wait now is much longer than a year.

They were using the same sweatband in the AB Henry too ( the factory made AB). I had one. It sure is the softest sweatband ever

That's correct. Marc uses a higher quality felt than Steve; and then he hand pounces it to a velvet like finish. My AB Deluxe is by far the finest hat I have ever owned, and I have owned quite a few custom hats. And actually, the AB Henry uses a different sweatband than the AB Deluxe. The Deluxe's sweatband is made from kangaroo, while the Henry is made from something else, I am not sure what exactly. Although I know Steve loves the Henry sweatband, and that's why he wanted Marc to use it on his AB Legend.

Cheers Nick, I see in the past you sold a WESTED cowhide. I wondered if it was heavy, compared to a horsehide and if the leather itself lightweight. THANKS, any insight if helpful.

To answer your question, I felt that the Wested cowhide was rather heavy. Much heavier than most leather jackets I have owned. But it was tough stuff.

Out of curiosity how much would it cost to reduce the hat size? Would it be worth while or risk?
