Hi everyone,

For sale is an unlabelled Sears Hercules jacket. Letting this one go because it's too big for me. The jacket is in really good condition for a vintage jacket. The wear seems to be surface only and has lead to quite a nice patina in my opinion. The photos included of the sleeves show pretty accurately what it looks IRL.

The jacket has french seams all through out the back and arms. It also has a liner that's not sewn at the bottom (for better airflow?) which seems to be typical of Hercules jackets in style at the time.

Measurements:
s2s: 46cm / 18 inch
p2p: 56cm / 22 inch
arms (top shoulder to sleeve straight): 63cm / 25 inch
back length (top of collar to hem): 63cm / 25 inch

This jacket has a pretty large front drop ( around 6cm ) so length shouldn't be a problem.

Asking price: $350 shipped world wide (payment Paypal FF or +4.5% for an invoice)

Do we know if this is horsehide or steerhide?
I'd wager its Horsehide based on similar jackets I have seen/handled. Most of the Herc HBs I have seen with that liner are HH. That liner is early nylon I believe --- a denser nylon than you'd see on a windbreaker. Also I think all of the brown Herc HBs I have seen have been HH. I have seen far fewer steerhide HB Hercs thought they do certainly exist. Perhaps someone else (@tmitchell59 , @Marc mndt) could shed a more definitive light on this. I know both own or have handled these as well.

It’s HH for sure. Very similar to this one I owned.

I’ve been sorely tempted. I just know it won’t fit. It’s a beautiful example of a classic Herc HB and an absolute steal IMO at this price.

I really love this jacket. I certainly don’t need it but if it was a true 42 I’d probably buy it anyway. It’s too small for me unfortunately..

Same here. Slightly bigger and I would have been in the race for sure.
