I am 42 us suit generally
This Freewheelers Mulholland shown above looks absolutely gorgeous but I suppose it might fit like trim fitted size 40 or like comfortable size 38 considering its measurements and which is more important - having these measurements it has woolen lining, so inspite it's marked like size 42 on jacket's sizetag - it seems to be more like size 38-40. It's very trim fitted pattern by its own, esp. in its armpits and waist areas. Its size marked as 42 isn't an american size at all but is japanese one, that makes sense too.
I don't think it might loosen while wearing, it's made of Shinki HH which usually tends to shrink a bit after lots of wear.
I'd suggest to sell this very nice jacket to anybody who has suitable size (38 or trim fitted size 40).
Be careful with your attempts to stretch the jacket 'cause stretching attempts might ruin jacket seams.

Yeah it’s the sleeve length on the 42 which is touch and go. The 42 is just ok on a brand new jacket, with some creasing I’m afraid it’ll come up short. I also have a wide back so it’s very tight across my lats.

I'm not sure it is quite that extreme in size difference. I can zip and wear it, even at my size.
It is too tight for my liking, but I could never wear an American 38, or zip one up.
The shoulder and armpit actually are not too bad it is the abdomin that's too tight when zipped.
Length is fine for me at 6'1.
If someone was 5'11-6'1 range and 170-180lb, that's a slim person that could wear this.
Not that far off from a us 42.

Some people also want a very neat fit, so it's a bit subjective in that sense as well.

It fits about the same as my thedi large shawl, and most feel that is a perfect fit, even though i find it a bit tight.

Its damn close, but like everyone on here, I like perfection, and want to love my leather.
