I'm very sad to let this one go. This was my true introduction to the awesomeness of vintage hats. However, as I have accumulated hats into my collection, I have come to terms with my favorite styles, and this Stratoliner's brim width just ain't for me :D. Let's give this a new home!

Light tan felt, SUPER soft & malleable leather, crisp liner with ornate Stetson crest.

Tagged 7, fits me perfectly as a size 7'er.

Flaws: A couple of MINOR white marks near the ribbon. Should come out with a light brushing, if concerned. Other than that, nothing to report. This is a wonderful Stetson in damn good condition.

Brim width: 2 3/8''
Crown (open) height: 5''
Opening: 7 7/8'' x 6 1/2''

Is that same hat Bowen had? Beautiful!
Yes, it is. He sold it to me to expose me to vintage felt hats, and I've never gone back to modern since. Any size 7 man would be privileged to own a piece like this one!

EDIT: Correction made in a later post--Not his Stratoliner.

Forgive me for saying this but, I thought 40's Stratoliners had wider brims. 2 3/8's seems pretty short. Would you be interested in a trade? I have a beautiful late 40's to early 50's Whippet that's near mint. It has a satin like liner. Not the plastic one. Also, have other beauties. Call if interested. 732 297-0697 in NJ

Hey thanks for inquiring. The brim indeed seems short, but there's no evidence it was ever cut down, so this is its original width. It was agreed by knowledgeable loungers that this hat is from the 40's, no reason to believe otherwise.

As for trading, I am not doing trades, only cash.

I think you are confused about this hat.
Yes, this hat is a hat you got from me, but
I did not sell you this hat.
I have never sold a hat to anyone.
Recall our PMs about that.

I gifted you this hat because i wanted you, being young and new to hats, to have the opportunity to see firsthand what a very fine vintage Stratoliner felt like.
You must have this hat confused with another hat you have purchased elsewhere.

Hmm, upon closer look you seem to be right. The one you gifted me had no white marks. Been confusing the two since I had gotten a VERY similar one at a flea market. My mistake, this is not our own B's hat, but I'd say just as splendid!
