Looking good Kermit!
You might even try some SJC trousers. They really fit the look of this jacket.

Were these jackets loose at the waist does anyone know? As my ELC Hartmann certainly is.

Thank you very much for your feedback!
the people in the pictures look very cool... but I can't afford such a radical change. I go step by step, but I'm taking notes. ;)

If some of you want to know the artisan who made the jacket, ask me by PM please.

If I'm correct, there were no official German flight jackets. There was a 'bring your own jacket' policy. Erich hartmann just happened to wear this jacket style.
This is my understanding as well. May have gotten it from the ELC website when I bought my Luftwaffe flight jacket. I opted for the Luftwaffe rather than the Hartmann. I was on the fence for several days before I placed my order, but finally went with the Luftwaffe because I thought the pockets would be more practical.

Kermit, I would prefer loose fit trousers to go with this jacket. The Fatigues point in the right direction, just not with their color and not with their patch pockets. Try some vintage swedish army wool pants and remove the cargo pockets. I got one, also without cargo pockets. They are fantastic! Pretty sure this would look awsome on you with this jacket. Remember, winter is ahead!

Im a Jeans guy, so I like that look best but to my eye all three styles work equally well. You have a great jacket, just wear it. With anything!

Yeah, ditto. Looks okay on wide pants, best on slim ones like the zeppelin guy is wearing but if I personally myself am to be asked, really loose clown pants like those jeans @handymike poster really have no business on anyone under 190 lbs.
