FREEWHEELERS "REBELS" HORSEHIDE SPORTS JACKET (BLACKJACK) $2100 shipped

P2P 24.5
back in 25.25
shoulder 21.25
sleeve 24.75

1 small blemish. Slight wear on sleeve. Image attatched

Now, onto that amazing horsehide specially developed by Freewheelers! This is the new 'BLACK JACK' colourway, which uses a 1.3mm thick hide with a thick top black coloured dye which allows the inner core to gain a rich dark brown shade that will eventually reveal itself in areas of wear.

Are you sure about the chest measurement?
Sites list it at 59cm or 23.23” pit to pit.
I think it always helps prospective customers to see the measurements in photos with a soft tailor tape if you have one.
That way we can see how they are measured because there are so many different techniques.
Beautiful jacket, Mulholland crossed with half belt, 2 birds with one stone

I am confident in the chest measurement. I would be happy to show the measurement with a soft tape. I am unsure where you are finding the 59 cm measurement. I believe that is more consistent with a size 44 mulholland

This is a bigger jacket than the Mullholland. A true 44, 21" Shoulder, 24" ish P2P, 22" hem I bet. I think the sleeves would be about 25.5" if I am not mistaken. RC is the maker and their sizing is bigger than other Japanese brands.

Beautiful jacket. GLWS!

Thank you for the photo.

Now I’m doubting where I read sizing for a 44 because the few places that I’ve seen this only went up to a size 42 on the charts. On the charts the 42 was 57cm or 22.441 inches for pit to pit and the measurement went up in 2cm increments from size 36 to 42. This is a 2inch jump so you can see my confusion from these charts.
In any case it’s GREAT that Freewheelers makes atleast one jacket for a larger torso guy.
I would buy this in a heartbeat if it wasn’t so close to Christmas and didn’t have to settle up soon for 2 jackets I preordered a long time ago. It’s the one Freewheelers that comes close to theoretically fitting. I hope I can find one in the future because I love this.

The measurements will differ from retailer to retailer. That’s the gamble. They just copy and paste info , or they measure differently. I’ve hit a few bumps because of that. The danger of buying direct from Japan.

This jacket is most likely a custom order through the Japanese retailers when they do the restock orders. The largest stocking size there is 42. This jacket could even be a Japanese 46.

I’ve bought an used La Brea in size 44 that was supposedly ordered through Avenue store. It turns out to be closer to 42Wide. On the larger sizes it’s really best to buy used, and seeing a tape measure, especially in the sleeves and hem too, can’t just go off by the numbers from retailers.

GLWS OP, beautiful jacket.

Makes perfect sense. Combine that with the language barrier in asking for measurements of the actual jacket and the reluctance of many shops to sell directly and requiring a proxy I can definitely see your point in buying used as most of these jackets are in near new condition anyway.

@Brandrea33 I have size 42 rebels (from 2021 batch) and it has 25.9" (66cm) sleeve.

@3ric - could you please clarify how you measured the sleeves? I understand there could be jacket to jacket differences from where you buy them. but more than 1" shorter sleeve than my size 42 seems unlikely... all other measurements are bigger by at least 1". just trying to help prospective buyers here :)

Forgot to attach the sleeve measurement pic on my size 42.

It’s a fantastic jacket. And in my case, better than mulholland in terms of fit. GLWS. Cheers!

I remember seeing a FW Goldigger size 44 with almost identical dims on Yahoo. I also didn’t go for because of the sleeve length. But I believe they are longer, it was just too much of a gamble because the Japanese seller never responds.
It would help if the OP can put a tape to the sleeves. My 44 La Brea has 25.5” to 26” sleeves so I’d assume this Rebel is at least in the 25” range and not 24”.
Beautiful jacket. Rare. GLWS

Thanks for posting all of this. I’m still slightly confused by the sleeves measurements.

In the first picture, measuring straight from the shoulder to the cuff, it looks like almost 26”.

In the second picture, I can’t see the top of the tape and where you are measuring from but this measurement looks like 24.75”

Not Trying to make life difficult, but I’ve been burned on 2 different Japanese jackets where the sleeves were too short.

I have a jacket coming in tomorrow from The Flat Head, so depending on how it works out I may be interested.

It may also help clarify for other potential buyers.

Thank you, beautiful jacket BTW :)

I only posted one pic of the sleeve with the tape measure. 24.75. Couldn’t see the top of the tape because I am holding it with my foot.
