Marc! So it's you who put that up! That's making quite the storm on facebook, many friends sent me links about the jacket and I hadn't heard about it, much to my shame.

oh and GO FLUTE GO!

But I can always throw in a bid and hopefully help out Marc... And maybe ruffle the feathers of my competition. ;)

Please don't do that, Flute!! See my PM to you.

I truly appreciate Fluteplayer's and other Loungers' moral support. But I never have, and never will, condone any kind of bidding that's done without the explicit intention of trying to win an auction. Please do not make bids unless you're attempting to win!

Thank you for understanding,

Marc

"Well ... according to Collectors Weekly online magazine, the Frank Sinatra suit jacket --with 80 watchers-- is (approximately) the "most watched" men's vintage clothing auction on eBay right now: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/mens-clothing/auctions

That's good, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the auction will fetch a lot of bids, let alone high ones. Watchers aren't always bidders."

How true that turned out to be ...

Live and learn.

Well, I think you must be a tad happy right about now, Marc! May I ask how much you paid for it?

I am ... and yet ... a Frank Sinatra tuxedo shirt made in 1987 sold at auction this January for $1,200.

See it here: http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/8321603

In answer to your question, I paid $12 for the Sinatra jacket at a thrift store. (The seller of the Sinatra tux shirt paid $5 for it at a garage sale.)

Still, damn fine return on your investment. Such a fine piece of entertainment history.
Now, all kidding aside, I have a New York Times with a mailing address to Frank Sinatra (I...acquired it when I worked at the old Warner Hollywood Studio [Santa Monica and Formosa]) and he still had an office there. Wonder what it's worth.
