Found my ultimate stingy

I'm generally a wide brimmed guy, but I was on the lookout for one really nice stingy. I pulled the trigger on this nice Dobbs charcoal grey number. No idea how old it is, but it came with the octagonal box, and has the wind trolley and a sewn-in liner and a soft leather sweatband. The felt is very soft and has a subtle "nap" without being too fuzzy.

Here I am, ready for the Blues or the Chicago M.C.U. in "Crime story."

(I'm not sure why I always look like my fists are clenched in my pictures)

Looks Great!

Nice find. You were definitely born to wear hats. The styles I've seen you wear in your other posts all look good on you.

Enjoy the weekend and the new stingy!

I think I'm scared of you!

BTW, that sweat looks 60s to me.
I have a Dobbs from around that era
and the felt is still really nice.

It's 106 miles to Chicago...

I'm thinking 1960s, too, but it's in such nice condition (except for one little moth divot... dangit) that it looks brand new. If new hats were made that well, that is. ;) It has a high crown, and it seems to go with my face better than the other stingies I've worn.

I've always loved the Blues Brothers, and I had a cheap black wool felt stingy for a long time, I used to love driving my old black 1969 Imperial LeBaron wearing the hat & shades.

She caught the Katy
And left me a mule to ride
She caught the Katy
And left me a mule to ride
Now my baby caught the Katy
Left me a mule to ride
The train pulled out
I swung on behind
Crazy bout her
That hard headed woman of mine

Hey Tony, how about...

Drivin' down the road,
in some cold blue steel.
I had a bluesman in front
and a beautician at the wheel.

With my New York brim,
and my gold tooth displayed.
Nobody give me trouble,
cause they know I got it made

Oh I'm bad, I'm nationwide.

It looks to me like the crown is the right shape and size to balance your face below the brim. Actually, it's one of the nicer fits I've seen.

Maybe I should start a new career as a plus-size male model? lol

Thanks for the kind words, everybody. I worry that some people might be getting sick of seeing my mug plastered all over the FL. lol
