Back in 1978, while attending a ham radio flea market, I spotted a very desirable piece of WW I vintage radio equipment. I picked it up and asked the seller how much it was. He replied "seventy five...cents"!

After I composed myself, I paid for the item with three quarters from my pocket and pinched myself to be sure I wasn't dreaming!

I still have the item...a 1919 Grebe RORA audion control box.

I got these '30s ties for a quarter each at a church thrift shop. No wear whatsoever. Not even that typical rubbing where the knot is tied.

Oh I love this sort of thing!

Yesterday I got this kitschy 1950's Santa display for $1:

I also got a large Rubbermaid storage box full of 1950's Noma candoliers for $3 total, so way less than a buck for each! And they all work and just needed some cleaning.

Oh, and a Victorian prayer book for 50 cents. I saw a copy on abebooks.com for $125!

Nice everything! I like the 3-D effect the crafter did on the sleigh with the toys.

I actually did some looking online and discovered that the sleigh is from Woolworth's! It also has "Japan" stamped on it.

Four 33RPM Record Set of "South Sea Island Magic" with a 1968 copyright. Lots of Hawaiian related music, and so very relaxing in the evening and even during the day.

And for a single dollar, lots of goodies inside....

i was with my father in a local antique store yesterday and he picked up a wooden "Sambo's" "good for a 10cent cup of coffee" coin and told me he and his friends used them all the time when he was a kid...the owner simply replied "take it..."

I hit the jackpot this weekend at the local Boy Scout rummage sale. For $4.02 I came home with a box of vintage goodies.

6 hats (5 for me, one for the mister)- 25 cents a piece
2 dresses- 25 cents a piece
2 handbags - 25 cents a piece
4 ties- 25 cents a piece
2 juice glasses - 25 cents for the pair
4 floral plastic candle rings- 5 cents a piece
and a chiffon scarf for 3 cents

I need to download the pictures off the camera. When I do I'll share.

All of which doesn't say much for the Boy Scouts' ability to raise cash! lol
.

lol True.

In their defense, I did hit the sale in the last hour and a half, and for the last hour everything was half off, but still....

I just wish I had arrived earlier. I heard that before I arrived there had been a whole garbage bag full of vintage purses and one of hats, and at least a few of the hats had been in their original boxes!!

The ladies tallying my total told me it was a yearly event. Guess who's going again next year??!! :D

I love this thread.

Who doesn't like finding treasures at $1 or less?

Dinerman, love those baseball-inspired stiched ties.

1931 green bias in package - 40 cents. I picked up about 20 packages of trim from various eras. Nothing was more than $1.
Liberty Snap Fasteners that I have no idea what I will do with - 50 cents. Stain is really not that noticeable in person
Set of 5 buttons - $1

Forgot to add this too

Here's my $1 Find. The thrift store was kinda sneaky, they taped both together and I didn't see the broken tooth until I got home. (not that it would have deterred me...)
