Forest Green Resistol Western 1960s? 7 1/2

Here's a great 60s (my guess) Resistol. "FR GREEN" is forest green,
I assume. It's a very dark green (best seen in the first and "underside"
shots), which is pretty unusual. Has a bright red satin liner. 3 1/2" brim,
pretty stiff, if not by modern standards. The model and retailer appear to
be "The Stockman" of Phoenix-Payson, AZ, according to the label under
the sweatband and the sweatband itself. It is marked, "XXX Beaver" on the
front of the sweatband.

Appears to have had a pin in the front at one time,
but it was gone by the time I got it.

There are some cracks in the finish on the sweatband that do not
go through. The sweatband is torn at the rear stitching, but the
stitching is still holding it together. However, that is probably why
it fits my 7 1/2 Long Oval head. Brim felt has a couple of nicks and a
couple of moth divots which are all extremely hard to find (and mostly
on the underside). You may be able to make out the biggest of the
moth divots in the "underside" shot, along the line of sunlight.
This is a tough hat. Unfortunately, it's just not my style.

$40 plus $12 shipping. As always, no returns unless I made a big mistake in
listing. I can usually include insurance in that shipping price, depending on
the size of the box I use. Just in case, if you want insurance, add a couple of
bucks. Not responsible for the mangling of the post office (but I must say they
have been doing fine so far).

Might explain the unusual color.
I'm afraid we'll never know more of its history than we can
find on the sweatband. There is no indication of affiliation
on the hat.

I do suspect that's the case with this hat:

That brown hat is much stiffer and thicker and has grommets
for a cord. But it's hard to say with the Resistol.

Nice hat, low price...
