...nothing says 'I Love You' like a pair of pliers

I collect photo postcards from the Edwardian era through the 30s. This is one of the strangest images in my collection. For those of you who can read French, here's the message on the back:

Certainly unusual but she seems happy, pliers or no pliers.

Perhaps I should visit the hardware store tomorrow to find the perfect Valentine's Day gift.

Maybe the pliers are to get that guy off her back. I needed a pair a few months ago...

Does anyone actually care about Valentine's day? I mean, like, who demands chocolates and flowers? Personally I'm just going to watch a Western with my boyfriend and drink PBR and eat home made stir fry leftovers...and I'm really looking forward to it!

(BTW J'en pince pour toi translates loosely into "I've fallen for you," or "I have a crush on you.")
