For the love of the Eight Panel Cap

I just recieved a new cap from B! Wear Cap Co. I must say that every cap I get from Brett is worthy of praise. My newest addition is a brown herringbone tweed. I have a brown herringbone jacket that I thought would match...it's not a perfect match but it's close enough. I don't work for Brett, but I am an advocate of his work. I find that his attention to detail is remarkable. I have a couple Miller Hats eight panels and the just don't last very long. Maybe a few weeks before they start to come apart. I find myself wearing fedoras less and less these days. I will continue to wear my fedoras to church and dressier occasions but I find that the eight panels are sometimes just as approtriate.

A very well made cap

I own a B! Wear Eight panel cap and can second your review. I've got an ivory colored linen which is good for the hotter days (which aren't too many here in Northern Calif.). I also own one from Hat People which is a nice cap too. The eight panel caps fit my big (7 7/8 long oval) melon! I try for the post WWII working man look and my caps fit the bill. Like to see some pics of your caps if you got 'em. I'll try and post a few myself. Cheers! Sefton

I have a Hat People cap also, maybe it's just me or the cap, but I don't think the HP cap is very well made. I will post some pics when I finally get off my butt and invest in a another digital. But until then...enjoy...

I see that your look is post WWII...not that there is really a big difference, but I consider my look to be Depression era to WWII.

I hope that guy on the far left ain't lighting a joint, I'd hate for him to get dizzy and fall.

Even the working man dressed better back then...

Great photo! Probably illegal to even smoke(tobacco) on a construction site nowadays...

The only difference I see between the B!Wear and the Hat People that I have is that the Hat People cap is a little roomier. Brett's customer service is great so I could request a slightly bigger sweatband and solve that problem.

I like the 30s blue collar look also, it's just that I usually wear an A-2 with khakis
and (soon) Russets. Regards, Sefton

When I'm not making films I'm working with my dad in construction and... it is not illegal to smoke :cool2:

A favorite customer of ours is a habitual cigar smoker, he always brings a handful out for the three of us to enjoy.

Back to the caps...

I love 8 panel caps. I own two. What I love most about them is the small bill. I wear them when I do camera work (not just to look like a 20's era cameraman) because I can wear the cap, traditional style, and look in the viewfinder without turning my cap around, and it's the only hat, IMHO, that looks just as good backwards as it does traditonally!

(For the sake of political correctness: I will say that you, the general unfashionable populace, look perfectly fine in backwards baseball caps.)
