NOW TAKING OFFERS, PM ME!

My wardrobes are overflowing, and a lot of stuff either doesn't fit, or doesn't see the light of day. I'm getting married in a few months, so I thought it's time to make some room and make a little extra money to help cover the wedding bills. I will be slowly adding more items for sale as I sort through them. All prices are in $US for the convenience of the majority of those reading this.

Please excuse the terrible photography, my camera is very old and struggles a bit under most lighting, but I've tried to take photos that show the clothing as well as possible. Please contact me if you would like more photos of a particular piece.

Shipping:
I live in New Zealand, so shipping will be a little more complicated for most potential buyers. With this in mind I took a trip to the Post Office and got some quotes, which will give a rough idea of how much shipping will cost. The quotes cover shipping to both the USA, and the UK. If you live elsewhere please PM me for a quote.

I will likely only be able to ship items once a week, on a Monday. As the Post Office is closed before and after my usual work hours.

Suits (2kg):
International Courier, tracked and insured, 5 to 6 days $60US
International Air Parcel, no tracking, 6 to 10 days $47US

Ties:
(250g)
International Air Parcel, no tracking, 6 to 10 days $12US

Bulk load ties / shirts (1kg)
International Air Parcel, no tracking, 6 to 10 days $25US

First up, suits and sports coats, ties and shoes coming next!

---------------------------------

1930's two piece suit
A beautiful 30s men's suit, in a stunning blue grey wool. This suit is one of the nicest I've seen, and is in mint condition. Looks like it was hardly worn, if ever! Either New Zealand or British in origin. Unfortunately, it's too small for me.

Jacket is peaked lapeled with one button closure, nice high armholes, fully lined. Pants have button fly, side cinches with metal clasps, and buttons for suspenders.

Fits somewhere around a 34-36S.

Measurements as follows with suit laying flat:

Jacket
*46cm across the front
*61cm arm length
*69.5cm from top of collar to hem

Pants
*40cm waist
*75cm inseam

A beautiful 50s atomic fleck suit! Condition is excellent. Typical bold look cut of the period, with big padded shoulders and wide lapels. Pants have a high waist and hollywood dropped belt loops. This is one of my nicest suits in my collection.

1940's double breasted suit (NZ Made!)
A fantastic piece of New Zealand menswear history, a beautiful navy blue chalk stripe double breasted suit. This is a favourite of mine, some very good tailoring here in a quality heavy weight wool. Little touches such as the full lining, ventless back and leather kick tape on the trouser hem indicate this being a higher end suit of the era.

This one does have a few flaws. There is a repair to a moth hole on one of the trouser legs, a small hole on the collar area, and a few small holes on the back of the jacket near the hem. Still in wearable condition, but please check photos for more detail.

Seems to fit something like a 38R, but please check against measurements below. Measurements taken with suit laying flat.

Jacket:
58cm across the chest
60cm sleeve length
77cm from collar to hem

Trousers:
37cm waist
79cm inseam

$200 US

1930s Dinner Suit / Tuxedo
The silk on this is lovely, one button, single breasted with peaked lapels. Skeleton lined. Suspender buttons inside pants waist, with button fly, and a nice thick silk stripe up the sides of the legs.

This is in good condition, but moths had a bit of a nibble at some point. There is a small piece of damage on one leg, and a little hole under an arm, and on the handkerchief pocket. Please see photos, other than that this is good condition.

Fits something like a 36S, but please check measurements below. Measurements taken across the front of the garment, laying

flat:
Jacket
46cm across the chest
57.5cm sleeve length
71.5cm from collar to hem

Trousers
37.5cm across the waist (plenty of material to let out)
75cm inseam (plenty of material to let down)

$80 US

Early 50s sports coat, in a mid weight dark blue gabardine. Nice wide lapels, patch pockets, ventless and skeleton lined. Has an early 50s union tag in the pocket.

Only a very small flaw with this one, a little hole on the lapel/collar, pretty much impossible to notice (see photo).

Would fit someone around a size 38-40R.

Measurements as follows taken with jacket laying flat:
*50cm across the front
*61cm arm length
*80cm from top of collar to hem

1950s atomic fleck Sport Coat
Early 50s sport coat, in a beautiful brown and orange atomic fleck. Skeleton lined. Has the 1949 union label in the inner pocket. The lining has a bit of staining (which will not be seen when worn), and the lining in one arm is coming unstitched (five minute job to fix).

Fits like a 36-37, somewhere between a short and regular.

Measurements as follows taken with jacket laying flat:

*49cm across the front
*60cm arm length

1940's blue double breasted jacket
A beautiful double breasted jacket from the 40s, this is in mint condition and looks and feels like new. A great example of a bold look jacket of the period, with large lapels and a wide button stance. The jacket is skeleton lined, with union tag in pocket, and a sellers label from Wichita Falls Texas. I love the fabric of this one.

Measurements as follows taken with jacket laying flat:

*50cm across the front
*59cm arm length
*77cm from top of collar to hem

$120 US

Black 1920's suit jacket
A rare example of an original 20s suit jacket. This is in great condition for its age. There is a few areas of light damage, the material has worn through in places on the cuffs (the sleeves are very long, so could be taken up to sort this issue out), and a piece on the collar, the lining has a tear in it. Aside from this it is in good condition, and some TLC would enable one to wear this again. Or would make a great addition to the collection.

Has a name and date on the inner pocket, 11/19/29.

Fits like a 38 long.

Measurements as follows taken with jacket laying flat:
*49cm across the front
*66cm arm length
*79cm from collar to hem

I'm very tempted by that last piece, the 1920s black jacket. Seems to have a neat subtle stripe to the material. Plus I'm in Australia, so cheaper shipping for a change!

Do you have any more pre-1930s stuff?

PM sent, Blakesby!

Thanks for the interest, M Hatman and Willyto. Yes, unfortunately these sizes are about as big as they get in my collection. Always seems to be the way that you can never find what you like in your own size, isn't it?!

A bit of interest in these pieces, but no sales as of yet! If you're interested in any of these pieces, I'm now open to offers, PM me with what you think it's worth.

If there's no more interest it'll be going back into storage!
