FOR SALE GOOD WEAR LEATHER CAPESKIN A-1 (SIZE 44-46)
Part of the fun of this hobby is the changing scenery. With the addition of a couple of jackets, I'm about to offer a couple of jackets that are not getting enough wear. As I've said before, in my household all the jackets have to work for a living and with a very well fitting ELC 0.50cal A-1 getting lots of wear I'm afraid the GW A-1 has to go.
I'm offering it here before EBay.
Although tagged a 46, the dimensions of the GW A-1 put it between a 44 and a 46.
GW A-1 (46)
Pit to pit 24"
Shoulders 20"
Front length 23.25"
Back length 25.5" collar seam to end of knit
Sleeves 25" to end of knit
The A-1 has been lightly worn and the cape grain is calming down/flattening quickly and becoming much less pronounced.
The knits are in excellent condition and flawless - the cuffs are tight and very sturdy. The waist knit is thick and quite deep. The collar knit is really well executed - the profile is perfect - with horn buttons.
This is a unique jacket - with the single loop collar, characteristic of the earlier 1920s jackets and two buttons to the waistband.
The lining is in perfect, unmarked condition - no stains.
This is the best GW pattern that I've worn (this is my fifth) and the attention to detail and tailoring are, as ever, superb.
These are the original images from John's website.
The current list price for this jacket is $1,299.00 USD (£845) plus postage with the lengthy wait.
I am asking $922.00 USD (£600) plus postage and PayPal fees.
Thanks for looking - PM me if interested.
