This Bootlegger is about 6 weeks old. I've been wearing it, and the CXL Steer shows marks easily (which is what's awesome about it) but this jacket definitely still has breaking in to do. I'm letting go of it because I want something a bit more trim on me. It's a 42 with .75 inch added to each side panel, for a total of an extra inch and a half in the torso. This jacket will make a bigger guy very happy, or it works great for layering - in fact I almost made the decision to keep it for that.
Measurements in inches are as follows:
Pit-to-pit: 26
Shoulders, seam-to-seam: 20
Sleeves: 28
Body length: 28.5
The hide is Cordovan Heavy CXL Steer. The liner is lightweight Nova Scotia wool tartan. Sleeves are lined in black sateen, pockets lined in moleskin. The jacket has a Highwayman-type V yoke, one interior left pocket with no closure, zip sleeves (which I love), antique brass Talon zips, with ball and chain pull on the chest pocket, olive drab stitching, and no epaulets.
In the six weeks I've worn the jacket, the leather has taken on light weathering and marking, as is typical of Cordo CXL. And it looks great.
(The jacket was made by Sahv at the Aero factory. Her photo is in the Aero bulletin magazine that I'll throw in, along with a wooden Aero hanger. I also still have the 'made by' tag with her signature that was attached to the jacket.)
