I bought this new, from The Cockpit (Broadway at Houston, upstairs) in the early '80s. Made in NYC. Nicely broken in. I haven't worn it for years...too small for me now.
Repairs have been made to both shoulder seams and pockets and arm-swings have been installed.
It's a very warm shearling bomber jacket.

Some measurements if this is helpfull...

From where MY shoulder ends (a little above the shoulder seam) to the end of the sleeve is 27 1/2 ".

From the actual shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve is 24 1/2".

The sleeve ends 3 1/4" past the bottom of the jacket (this is the length of the cuff).

The measurement around the inside of the jacket from armpit height (across chest area) is a total of 53" (across right front panel is 14", across left front panel is 14" and across jacket back is 25"...14+14+25=53).

I'd be happy to answer any questions.

I'd like $300. + actual shipping, but price is negotiable.

Bassman,
Is the jacket still available? If so, curious what size of business suit you wear? I'm only asking because I wear a 40s and was trying to determine if your jacket would be too small, big, or just right?

Thanks

Hi Jason.
It's still available.
The last time I bought a suit it was a 43 regular.
If you require any specific measurement of the jacket, just ask.
Thanks.

Guy,
Probably the best measurement would be arm pit to arm pit, with the jacket full zipped, laying flat, without wrinkles. I certainly don't mind a jacket a little too big versus too small.

Thanks

Bassman,
I went and got remeasured for jacket size just to make sure I was a 40s (it's been a few years since I bought a suit jacket). Turns out I'm actually a 42s. From your measurement of 24 x 2, being 48, then taking away half a inch on both sides for room allowance of the wool (I'm just guessing on that number?) should come to 47. I think the jacket would fit ok in the chest (I never worry about the sleeve length, it's always long on me because of my short arms). Just curious, since we are close in size in suit jacket, when you say it's too small for you now, is it too small in the chest, all over, sleeves, etc? I'm 5'6" 165 lbs, are you close to my size? BTW, sorry for not sending all these requests via PM, I just signed up a little while ago and apparently I have to make 15 post before I'm allowed the privilege.

Thanks
Jason

No worries on the PM thing.
I'm around 5'9" and close to 200 lbs. My arms are kind of short too.
It'll zip up on me fine but just feels constricted in the chest.
If you haven't seen them, there are some pictures of it on me in post #16 of this older "for sale" thread-

I'm not sure what you mean with 24x2 (front 24" and back 24"?).
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Guy,
I'm trying to hit the 15 post mark so that I can pm. So I'm going to send a lot of 1 sentence questions per post to get me past the threshold.

Paypal? Yes.
Calculate with zip code? Yes.
Pockets have been replaced and are unlined leather (I think).
Jacket weight is aprox 3 or so lbs.
No additional pockets inside.
