The interesting thing about the olive waxed flesh used on this boot is the patina shows this avocado green. Compared with many other waxed flesh leathers including some other variations of olive waxed flesh will usually show a light brown undertone. For that pair to show a light green after a scuff was quite uniqueDidn't get to see the wescos in olive but I do imagine it looks like one of those worn java trumans that looks good when the nap starts showing through. I've been interested with waxed flesh, it's basically a rough out right? That was waxed so should be more water repellent.
The benzein I ordered is about half a size too big for me, wished Indonesian makers offer half sizes for those in between sizes. That's a great point with the larger rotations of boots; do they dry rot and do you have to replace them at some point even though the sole is not worn? I read your first post and it makes more sense now as you work as a cobbler.
I'm not 100% positive but I think Benzein may offer half sizes now, I have a friend who is getting pair from him and his size will be a 42.5. Not sure if this a new thing or something he has always had.
I don't how long it would take for rubber to dry rot, I think that would only be an issue if you were buying NOS footwear. The older stuff may have poorer quality rubber soles and sitting for enough time will usually lead to them cracking. Although older boots that have been somewhat worn seem to not have the issue with cracking. I personally wouldn't worry about soles cracking if you have a larger rotation, I mean unless you planned on keeping them for like 50 years then you may have cracking by then.
