I tried that.....I'm not convinced that an untidy heap was the desired result but that's what I got! :eusa_doh:

Jones - you have to fold over all the edges first, so they are straight all around, then you can fold the sheet as usual. Thought a gentleman such as yourself would know that. Tsk! ;)

Now, could some one teach me how to fold fitted sheets?

My Mother in law taught me to fold them like so:

You have to fold the elasticized corners into one another first when you fold in half, and then in half again.THEN you fold till you have straight edges, and can fold as normal. I say this only because she said it was proper, but honestly, I end up rolling them into a ball & stuffing them into my linen closet:eusa_doh:

Obviously I'd never admit to doing such a thing! ;)

The Japanese would do no less than make an art out of everything:rolleyes:
After all, we make an art out of drinking tea:p
Yup, I've seen store clerks fold 'em like that in a flashlol

Not to mention being able to fold sheets into the shapes of swans, cranes, insetcs, flowers etc! :p

Well that's just showing off, that is! lol

Actually LM, perhaps you could answer me a question? Why do ladies' kimono have the gaps between sleeve and body but the men's don't? Is there a particular significance or reason for it?

Well, that certainly is an art! As LeMedicine has stated, the Japanese certainly do have the tendency to make everything into an art. Elegance is the word that comes to mind. After being the manager of a clothing store for a few years, I thought I had folding down to a science. I didn't even have to use one of those silly little folding boards to make the perfect fold. But, after seeing what these people do, I feel like a novice.
I have been to a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, and it was so beautiful, really magnificent. What a beautiful culture, they make an art out of the things we do as chores everyday (well, most people, the one bad thing about working in a clothing store is when you get home you never want to fold another shirt again!). It really is intriguing.

Hehehehe! Oh the frustration!!!! I feel your pain, although as you know too well, I'm not much of a folder of anything these days. Big heaping piles of stuff, that's what I've got. Time to build that closet under the landing of the staircase:) Yeah, that will help:D

Yes but Daisy, you know what will happen if you put the linen in there...the Tribble effect! I swear that my linen multiplies - I don't remember ever buying three of the same colour duvet sets! :eusa_doh:
