You might reach out to one of the custom cap makers. A local seamstress is another option, or you could try it yourself. Otherwise, it’s a value proposition: if it’s a hat that holds significant value to you it is worth looking for ways to repair it, but if it’s just a cap you might be money ahead by replacing the entire cap. I’d give it a try myself, but that’s just me.

Yes, I have a Fallsworth and I like it. A little less full than the AmiCharnel. I have one of Hepville's and really don't care for it. Mine has a very flimsy fabric and the brim has little to no substance to it. It just kind of flops. Also the sweat was low quality. I didn't think it offered value for the money I paid compared to so many others.

That's a shame - not my experience at all. I hear you on the floppy peak; that' one of the things I really like about them, but I can imagine it's not to everyone's preference.

I was talking about a full leather cap or hat. One see’s these for sale but they general appeal to those who have never worn a cap or hat regularly. Leather sweat bands are not a problem all by caps have them.

Full leathe can be great for driving rain, but you do have to get used to the Village Peopled crack, esecpially if you wear it with a leather jacket.... ;)

I sent a sport coat to Jonathan at Cordova Caps and he sent me a picture today of my new cap.

New cap day rules!

Congrats on the new cap sir. The fabric used on your new 8 panel is very dapper. The material has enough colors and hues to pair up with a bunch of your kit. The drape of the cap is flattering. Congrats!

I look forward to seeing more of the cap in the near future.

Best, Eric -
Thanks, Eric. I'm already wanting to order 2 or 3 more!

@Tukwila I saw your hat on Instagram and was immediately mesmerized by the fabric. I asked Jonathan if it was his own fabric or provided by a customer. Any extra fabric from that sports coat? ;)
Actually, I had already offered the extra fabric to Eric in advance of my cap being made, but after Jonathan cut out the pieces for my cap he told me there just wans't enough left for a second cap, unfortunately.

This jacket was too small for me, but I liked the material and bought it from Tweedy Don here in the classifieds and had him ship it directly to Jonathan.

There are enough cool fabrics between Cordova Caps and The Well Dressed Head to keep me dreaming for awhile.

Im eyeing a hemp summer cap from Keith next...

Do you have that many sport coats to sacrifice? :D
:D I have a beautiful Magee Donegal Tweed jacket I'd love to have in a cap, but I'm not willing to cut it up as it actually fits me! :D

This was a too-small-for-me 42 I got from @tweedydon here in the FL Classifieds and I had him ship it directly to Cordova Caps. Both Jonathan at Cordova, and Keith at The Well Dressed Head have some material I really like, so no need to cut up other jackets!

I think the poster may meant that you can't buy directly from Jonathan Richard.

Their caps can only be purchased through their distributors. I know that DelMonico Hatter and JJ hats & Village Hat Shop have offered some styles in the past.

The pandemic seems to have affected Jonathan Richard production. I haven't seen anything new offered in a few years.
