Great score Sir!!! Hearing good things about 5 Star & Shawn the owner, great value for the price point and where I'd now go if i was in the market for a new leather. Small project planned for June involving one of their 'Helmet Bags'.

The jacket is bueno but how is no one talking about that '65 Bonnie!?

I grew up working on these old Brit bikes with my Dad. I was 12 or 15 and all my friends were 60 plus. We spent out time in the garage restoring bikes, listening to blues and outlaw country and stories of the old days. WWII vets, first generation Greasers from the 50s, million mile riders, all of us with an incurable infatuation with vintage motorcycles.
My Dad bought this '65 TR6 from a fella who parked around 1970, and we got it going again. When my Dad passed away I bought the bike out of the estate.
A really good friend of mine, and the only other person my age I know that also loves these bikes, we are planning a long trip on old bikes wearing period correct clothing. Kind of like the Cannonball Races but on 60s Triumphs. I will post more photos once we are on the road.

This will deserve its own thread!

^^ 150% Agreed! Should do a thread on this, even if another section of FL.

You really model that jacket (and the boots) very well. Perhaps the company should pay you to do thier model shots. Really awesome overall. There are family members of mine who still are big fans of the old Royal Octogon side of the British motoring trade. If I ever do consider getting back into the motorcycling game again, it will likely be on something British.

Speaking of the boots - what are those you have on in your photos?

Thank you very much, I appreciate the kind words. I think its really cool that there are so many motorcycle enthusiasts here in the lounge, that would be great to have a bike thread. Maybe Ill start one with some photos.

The boots are from Golden Age Motorcycle Clothing. They are the Cannonball boot, designed for the guys who do the Cannonball race across country on the 100 year old bikes. Mine are 16" British Tan, but they make them up to 18" in Black, Brown, or Brit tan. I really love them and wear them about 3 days a week. Really top notch boots made in the USA

Xoper - those boots are indeed amazing works there. I cannot imagine what it must take to get them on & off, 16" and no speed hooks. That must take quite a bit to get them laced on and off? Look very comfortable once they are on - but they would be staying on for a long time once they get fully on... :)

I ordered with speed hooks to emulate the M1931 Cavalry boot. There is an old logger trick to lacing them one handed and you can have them tied in under 2 minutes. Ive worn mine through airports and had all the TSA folks taking bets on me and were blown away when I was up and walking faster than people with sneakers. Ill post a video later today on how to do it.
The fellows who order them with full eyelets are mostly 1920s motorcycle racers who are on the bike all day. They look older and really sharp, but if you want to wear them every day, then speed hooks are the ticket.

That is a great story with airports and TSA.

So I was so impressed with my custom 5* Waldo Pepper jacket that I ordered another one in their Distressed Buffalo Hide with real horn buttons and red satin lining. This time I ordered their stock model in a stock size 38. Here are my observations.

The pockets on the Stock model are about 20% bigger than on my custom Goat hide model based off the Bill Kelso photos.

The back pannels and sleeve seams on the stock model are in line with eachother where as on my custom they are rotated about 1.5 inches.

My stock model has 26" sleeves and hem but my custom has 25" sleeves and hem. The sleeves feel better at 26" than on my custom jacket at 25". But 26" hem feels too long but still functional.

The buffalo hide is absolutely amazing. I mean this jacket is staggeringly beautiful in person, especially with the satin lining. The quality of the buffalo hide feels right up there with a $1000 jacket. Im blown away by it and would strongly recommend the Buffalo to anyone interested in a 5* jacket.

I like each of the jackets for different reasons and they will both see much use. I think the perfect fitting jacket would be a mixture of the two jackets measurements, but they are close enough that I am very satisfied. This company certainly won my loyalty with quality, customer service, price range.

These both look great. I like your custom one slightly better but that mostly because of the dark seal colour I think.
