Are these all the pictures?
Yeah, from 2ndstreet, they max out at 5 pics. This is too much of a gamble so I'll let it pass. I just blew up the pics in photoshop and the zips looks like the old zips. If this was under ¥100k I'd bin it already but it's ¥160k so...

Got it.

Here’s the tag on my early 60’s Steerhide J-24L.

No contrast stitching and the button reads “DOT”

Here’s another 60’s steerhide Buco I took a pic of while at Inspiration. Also no contrast stitch for the label.

@Marc mndt is correct in his comment about neatness.

100% repro as far as I'm concerned.

The leather would also 'relax' a bit with exposure to temperature and air moisture. The leather pulls on the zippers are still very stiff.

Just out of curiosity, how are they advertising it?

2ndstreet has poor descriptions and even worse measurements. But there are some hidden gems. They usually undersell the condition of the jacket. So anything they rate B and above is actually quite decent, no creases on the sleeves!

I also think its a repro. Which I do not mind because it's a really nice Japanese repro, like my High Notch. Just the price is a bit high for repro so I will wait and see if it drops. Sometimes they do that too.

Thanks for the vintage pics and info. Appreciated.

@Marc mndt Nice! I come across originals every now and then and next time I do, I'll shoot it over your way. That jacket deserves an original collar.
I really appreciate that... But I wonder whether those collars were custom made to fit the jacket, or maybe they go by jacket size? Also, they're attached differly to different models.

Snapped onto the collar vs onto the lapels.

From my understanding belts and collars were all stock. There were other accessories as well that are original to Buco such as studs.

Belts have sizing on them that corresponds to the jacket's size.

As for the collars I've only owned one, and have handled a few others but I've never seen a size on any of them. As for attaching them, of course you'll need the appropriate collar for that particular jacket.

I know there are few people here that have owned more original Buco collars that may have insight as to sizing.

With the visible collar-mounted snaps, I wonder if one of these was the D-pocket Dee Dee Ramone is wearing in this picture I found.

Looks like his has some cool studding on the epaulettes.

Yep, and within a year or so when he got a Perfecto like Johnny, they put Buco style domes around the stars, so I wonder if Dee Dee started that with this Buco (or got inspired by it).

As I mentioned in that post, I’ll see if I can get ahold of a better quality version from the photographer herself.

With my 50s Bucos,
J24 is snapped on the collar, and J61(police jacket) is snapped on the lapels.
