Fit of D-1 Jacket Aero vs Eastman

Hi,

Currently looking at buying either the Aero or Eastman D-1, especially tempted by the 'redskin' Aero version.

Wondered how the brands compare in terms of fit?

I like my Jackets to be on the short side and a bit boxy rather than long and slim, which companies version would suit my preference better?

Of course the best idea would be to try on the jackets myself but as the two companies are on opposite ends of the UK I wanted to check with more experienced members here before I make the trip to one of the shops.

Well, Eastman are OTR and Aero are made to measure so length on the Aero is what you make it. In my (somewhat obsessive) viewing of them the biggest difference is the type of shearling. You. Ay prefer one to the other.

Thank you for the reply, appreciate the pic that's a fantastic looking jacket and a great fit too!

I've read that the shearling is slightly longer on the Aero's but what's also confused me on their website is seeing the different colour options for the "trim" such as "russet", "seal brown", or "oil pull brown".

I can't find any reference online to what the different colour trims look like but myabe it's best I contact Aero directly in that case.

Go for the version with the widest arms. The pattern is quite basic so arm width is critical as they were designed to be worn working, often at above head height

Oh boy this thread. There's one last leather jacket I'm reserving the right to buy otherwise I've pretty much stopped looking, and that's a redskin D1, probably size 40 as well. Although @s4rmark looks really good in that seal brown one too. But I'm on the other side of the equation and want mine to fit a little longer. I already have an Aero B3 that fits shorter and boxier. The Toys McCoy B3 I got from John fits longer as well and overall more trim and fashion fitting than the Aero version. I'm looking for a similar fit because it's more practical for every day use, but with the redskin and I want hand warmer pockets which both B3 do not have obviously. What am I going to do in Los Angeles with 3 shearling jackets and a C3 shearling vest LOL? I'm actually surprised how much I've worn them all this fall/winter season. With a tshirt only underneath, they become my go to rather than layering up to do quick errand, walk the dog, etc.

I went for the ELC because of the thinner fleece which for me means it will get more wear in the UK than a thicker shearling. Mine fits me short and boxy. I’ve always found Eastmans good on the phone for getting measurements of their jackets.
