Fit Check: Real McCoy's N-1

I picked up this size 38 RMC N-1, but I'm wondering if I should size down one. I'm 5'6" and 150 lbs. The chest and length seem fine, but the shoulders and sleeves are a bit large. It looks like sizing down might bring the chest in by a out 2 inches. Any thoughts or familiarity with their sizing?

I'm thinking functionality vs. aesthetics is more important for a jacket like this. That being said, if I could get away with sizing down one, I would. I'll add the sizing differences in the post, but it looks like shoulders would come in an inch, sleeves about .75 inches, and the length a bit more than 0.5.

This looks like an N-1 is supposed to. I'm not sure there's ever a case where the answer to "Should I size down this Real McCoys jacket?" is "Yes".

I would size down as long as you aren’t going to be wearing heavy sweaters underneath.

It looks fine the way it is now. Save the tight fit looks for leather jackets or denim shackets.

It looks absolutely fine as it is. I don't think an N1 would fit trim.

Is that a sweatshirt or a t shirt you're wearing underneath? If it's a t shirt then you've got room to layer, still. Which is what I'd want with a jacket like this.

A spacious fit looks cool.

Thats a near perfect fit for an N-1 for what its worth, I wouldnt size down at all - looks great

The only thing that looks "wrong" to me is the sleeves being long. It's a big jacket and shouldn't fit super tight IMO.

The sleeves are long, but otherwise it looks decent. Not the most flattering, but not oversized either.

Consider how cold it gets where you live and for how long. If you are going to layer up significantly then keep it as is.

If it doesn't get that cold for too long then for aesthetics I would size down. These jackets are warm so layering with a merino baselayer + flannel shirt or even henley, I can go down to -10C easily.

I'm in DC, so it doesn't get extraordinarily cold. I probably won't be layering beyond a sweater or flannel on most occasions. I'm going to throw on some of my normal layering gear tonight to see how it feels and looks.

fit is "N1 fit" for me and spot on - i don't think it should be too trim anyway

the point is if it feels "right" for you???

If you're not sure size down otherwise you will never be ssatisfied with it and always hesitant "what if the smaller one would've fit better"
