Fit check on ridiculous Schott Perfecto

So my nutty, factory-studded Perfecto showed up. Turns out Schott started with a 626VN, the "vintaged fitted cowhide leather" jacket. It's tagged as a medium, which I suspect might be meant to be a men's medium (though it was sold used as a women's and fits me like a women's), but it's a fitted style that apparently runs small, so that's probably the difference. Shoulders feel good, which is often the challenging fit area for me.

It's definitely showy. But I'm thinking more about the length. The arms are a hair long, but within bounds for what I tend to wear. The body is made for someone taller than me. It's very comfortable on, but I think the fit could be improved for me (if I keep it) by going over to a two-way zipper. It's functional as is, though, and I don't want to rush into a $130 zipper replacement. What are y'alls thoughts?

I actually think it looks good! The extra sleeve length gets taken up if you ride, and always looks better than too-short sleeves. Looks good on the lower edge too. It's really personal preference, but I tend to like roomier looks rather than skin tight. I find it just more comfortable.

Thanks! I wanted a little room to put a layer under it and it works well for that.

Having long arms all my life, I am sensitive to short sleeves. Would much prefer them a bit longer than a bit shorter. Your jacket covers the belt, which, in my opinion, is what it should do. Nothing wrong with the fit. As to the zipper? Leave it alone. Just fine the way it is.

The jacket's hem falls at your belt (just covers it), which indicates a pretty much perfect length. I love the jacket and the look.

I love it and I think you wear it perfectly! The eyelets around the sleeve zips are so cool!

Those sleeve zips were unexpected. One of the leather string pieces is missing, but I can hunt down a replacement. I hadn't realized that Schott leaves the sleeves open under the zips on the 626VN -- first one I've had like that! It is fun to have the zips rotated toward the top of the arms to show them off.

that's a keeper. Great look. Even though I haven't been around too long, I went through the "perfect" fit phase. Gave up. A little crease, a little short, a little tight, a little long. Who cares. If you rocking the leather jacket like you should, no one will mess with you anyway because they'll think you're a bad ass :po_O

Appreciate the feedback, everyone! I think I've been used to the super-short ladies jackets. I've also been wearing an extremely chunky octopus belt buckle that provides a little bit of a snag point. I should try it out with a flatter buckle and give it some more wears to see how I feel about the zipper.

Yes, a hair long in the body and sleeves, but nothing that would bother me too much. Most importantly, it suits you very well, and I love how you pull off that "Rock´n`Roll hero" look with it. Keep it!

Looks good to me. It appears this is a long model overall - perhaps Schott are aiming this one at those who find their traditional jackets on the short side in the sleeves. Not a problem with my 618 on me, though definitely they are shorter than many other, similar jackets I've experienced.

The body looks to be markedly longer than the usual Schott as well - is this one perhaps a "long" fitting? I tend to prefer the original, shorter length for myself, but this one looks like it has been cut for modern, low-rise jeans. If those in the photo are how you typically wear your waistband, relative to that the jacket doesn't look overly long in these photos.

I like the studding on it - nicely done, not OTT.

I think that Schott Zipper replacement is around $90 last time I needed one. Sleeve zippers were $65. Call Jerri at Schott .

Thanks! I did drop a line to Jerri and prices have gone up. It's $105 now, plus $15 for the return shipping.
