Fit Check - Lost Worlds Horsehide A1

I just picked up this near-new Lost Worlds horsehide A1 on the Classifieds. The horsehide is wonderful and this size 42 weighs a slender 3.33 pounds (which is great for SoCal). It feels a little snug in the shoulders and armpits, but I like how it looks. I also wonder if the sleeves and length are a hair too short. I'm halfway between moving it on and trying to break it in and see where it goes. (Ignore the unfastened button on the right pocket, it's hiding.)

Would love the forum's thoughts...

Looks pretty good imo. A1s are supposed to be fairly short in the body. The sleeves may be slightly short, partially because the cuffs are scrunched up a bit. In historical photos you tend to see a beefier cuff down to the thumb bone, that doesnt tunnel.

The shoulders look right.

Pits would be my sticking point. I don't like any pressure in the armpits. There is too much stitching in that area for it to break in. Your only option there is wear a thinner layer or get skinnier armpits. Depending on how tight it is you may get used to it or it may just be annoying forever.

From the back it looks too big in the shoulders. It's not pulled tight but is loose at the shoulders and bunched at the armpits. Like the shoulders are too square. If you shrug your shoulders up the armpit bunch will go away. You need a style with more slope from the neck hole to the sleeve armpit area.

it fits cool on you, I wonder how so when worn unbuttoned there are those diagonal creases from the peak of your neck down to your arm hole, is it caused by not enough shoulder slope? while usually LW has a prominent shoulder slope on other's LW jackets I've seen here.

I was surprised he said tight in the shoulders too. It looks roomy around the delt level.

I think it looks to fit pretty darn good for an A1. Perhaps just slightly short in the sleeves but hard to say.

If it doesn't feel right that's no good though.

A little snug at the armpit means that the armhole is too high, and not big enough for your arm size. (If you zoom into the photo showing your left shoulder, you’d see that the shoulder line is a little too high.) I have a German-made linen jacket that annoys the hell out of me at the armpits every time I put it on. I’d move the jacket if I were you.

the other 2 jacket has more squared shoulder/ sleeve construction, while the a1 seems like the sleeve is more spreading to the side, so when you bring your arm down there is material jabbing into the armpit, because comparing the 3 jackets, the sleeve on your A1 is the fuller so it can't be having a higher armhole compared to the other 2.
