I measured one of my other jumpers that I liked the fit on and gave him that measurement, when it was delivered (very quickly I may add) it was exactly the right length!

Hi,

Yes, I've done that before. I was wondering about what to do when ordering a present for somebody else - is there a generic standard length? The same system as there would be for a 40R jacket for example.

I would ask Peter for his opinions, and remember always better to be a little too long than a little too short!
or you could tell the intended recipient that you had started a night school class in undertaking and would they mind if you were to practice your measuring skills on them!!

Mine arrived just before Christmas, and I finally took a photo over the weekend. Not great lighting I'm afraid. It's the charcoal nepp, with 10% navy blue.

I've got a second one arriving tomorrow, in bottle green. Interestingly, Peter said bottle green is hard to get at the moment as the Chinese market is buying it all. He very kindly dropped me a line over the holidays to say they had some in, and so I ordered one like a shot. Again, excellent service!

Very nice. I hope the bottle green arrived safely.

I shall be getting out my Sou'West chunkie tomorrow I think. It's getting to that temperature - and the chunkies are warmer than my usual Army sweaters or Guernseys.

That's great. I might get one myself. I have a bottle green Guernsey which I always like wearing - it's a good colour.

If you want bottle green, do it straight away. Peter emailed me during the Holidays (above and beyond) as I'd particularly asked him to let me know when he had some in. That was a couple of weeks ago, and he said I'd have to be very quick!

That looks really good, I feel another order to Peter will be coming from me soon. Rgds.

As the cold weather is still here, I am going to place an order with Sou'West Chunkies in the next day or two for another one of their great sweaters.

They are indeed great sweaters and one of the advantages of the cold weather is the opportunity to wear nice Knitwear.

The gansey I recently ordered has arrived, it is excellent and just the thing for the extended period of cold weather we are still experiencing. I was wearing it all the time on my recent long weekend visit to North Yorkshire. Great service again from Sou'west Chunkies.

I got a couple of chunkies from Sou' West recently and am very happy with them. The thickness is perfect for layering under FQHH in this cold weather we're luckily having in the UK.

Corresponded early last week with Peter and ordered a charcoal chunkie. Unbelievably the sweater arrived here in Michigan today and I am very happy. The sweater is the real deal: heavy enough to be warm and feels tough enough to take honest hard wear. Exactly what I was looking for. One more thing: I didn't want a sweater that would be too bulky to fit under a coat or make me feel like a sheep so I ask for a trim fit. The fit is perfect.

Glad you liked the sweater, it's sounds grand. The service from Peter is excellent, he always seems to get any special requirements spot on. I have been very glad of my Chunkies and Gansey duringthe recent extended cold weather here in the UK. I much prefer these pure wool sweaters much better than those made of man made fibres or fleeces. Rgds.
