Alright, so my Stetson St. Regis homburg arrived today, sooner than expected! I'm aware that I'm not wearing the correct attire for a homburg, actually, but here's a few pictures of it on me:

It's a really good looking hat, and in great condition, I would say. The color is exactly what I wanted in my next acquisition as well, a light grey. I was thinking about re-creasing it to be a c-crown though. Any thoughts on that?

It looks good. I'd put a deeper center dent in it. Don't worry about proper attire. People with rules never look as good as they think they do.

Looks great, congrats!
I agree that the color is fantastic. I say try a C, if you don't like it you can always shape it back.

Cheers!

Enjoy. I wouldn't worry about the 'correct attire' too much. Wear it how you like, you are unlikey to enounter a homburg purest anyway. I do agree about a deeper center dent though.

Well, I deepened the center crease, somewhat:

It's more pronounced, and that's actually the way I would prefer it.

Thank you for the kind words, everyone. I think getting this hat sealed the deal, I am definitely interested in vintage now. This is actually my first vintage clothing piece, everything else is either modern or reproductions, so this will remain a memorable hat for years to come.

It looks really good, Blondie, especially with the deeper crease.

The one thing you might want to do is shape the brim a little, to give it a bit of the smile, with the front and back angled down a little.

Anyone want to take a shot at dating the hat by it's liner? I tried to take a picture, but on my Mac it appears flipped or reversed. Here's the eBay picture:

I applied a couple of front pinches. Actually, I like it, but the first way I wore it wasn't bad either; it was sharp.

I like the pinches. I would have advised against them, but I think they really go well with your face shape.

I like the pinches too. Forgive me for playing off of awful stereotypes, but I'm going for less of the creased "bowler" look, and more of a "fedora" vibe with this homburg. This is what I think the pinches help achieve. Anyway, I'm glad that the hat works well with my face shape, as that was admittedly an afterthought when I had bought this one.

I have actually made some modifications, making it into a c-crown. Here's how it turned out, it was a dry bash:

Wearing it straight.

A tilted angle.

A part of the top of the crown.

Finally, just for fun, my take on the Le Samourai poster that's on my avatar. (Yes, brim curl, and the fact that the ribbon's not as wide...)

As far as the hat is now, I can easily revert it if it's not to my liking. I don't think I ruined the felt at all, really. It's rather stiff, almost like my Federation out of the box, and quite "shapeable."
