Seems like it would be difficult to buy an expensive jacket online since some are not going to be true to size and may not fit you once it arrives and you're able to try it on.

I know some companies selling new clothing items allow returns so does these vendors selling used jackets allow buyers to return them if they do not fit?

No, but in jdm scene it is normal to post fairly accurate measurements. Of course you will still have some misses but generally we just resell them (and lose money).

If you are more like the string of people we've had recently crying and doing chargebacks, I would not recommend buying used from japan.

@Dash Riprock you've touched on something that is a challenge for almost everyone on this forum, which is why you'll see measurements mentioned in every classifieds ad.

If you know your shoulder, pit-to-pit, and sleeve length measurements you have at least a good starting point to work from, but even that's not a guarantee that something purchased sight unseen will work.

It really is a small leap of faith every time, but there are lots of discussions here about how various manufacturers fit, etc. If you've got a jacket in mind send a photo and question to the group and I'm sure someone will tell you their experience with the same manufacturer or jacket.

It's been an interesting gamble every time. In general, I find that Japanese makers' sizing reflects the actual P2P: A size 40 will have a 20 inch P2P. US manufacturers' sizes seem to take into account some room for layering, so a US size 40 would have a P2P of generally 21 to 22 inches. I find Aero sizing to be difficult to understand, as they vary the sizing based upon the decade of origin. In general for them, the sizing of the jackets reflects the economy at the time. So 1930s and 1940s are tighter and 1950s are roomier.

^^ And even then it's still a gamble! Always a bit more than just what the dimensions indicate, but that is a good start.

Part of the fun/adventure of this hobby... :)

Thanks, but I'd only buy if I have the option to return it and I don't mind paying the return shipping.

When buying used clothing, even if it does fit there may also be some unseen damage or issues that cannot be known until one has the item in their hands.

I've noticed that many sellers on eBay do accept returns if one is willing to pay the return shipping
